Not sure how one would not my friend; a sculpted original and its an alien...LOL!! Sure folks not even interested in SciFi would dig the work that goes into something like this.

Thats for sure! But I hope to get their attention with some 54mm sculpts of German WWII soldiers some day. Here, I have one in progress, but these guys are a bit harder to work on than this Alien was!

Ahhh...so this is the infamous Alien figure I have heard about, and in 1/6 !! This is going to be a big mother!! What kind of height will it be roughly tipping mate? I like the use of the various wires (some of them remind me of the old cords on telephones ) and as usual your sculpting is fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this

Shay, when finished it will stay around 15 to 18 inch. It will be a standing upright position on a Base which I have to design still yet. And yep, the cables are lead wire and sometimes rolled to the seen form (just like those old telephone cables; the look of these cables is from some film stills from the first two Alien movies). When I have changed the pipes on the back, I show some pics of the Body!
Dan b, thanks for your kind words! Glad you like it!
Cheers guys,
Frank

Armorguy, you are right! I personally love those designs, the ones H.R.Giger did for the Alien movies and the newer stuff like from PROMETHEUS and the new games like THE EVIL WITHIN or RESIDENT EVIL in general. Sadly, I got some more new ideas today and they will be a big surprise (when I ever have the chance to do them!)

Thanks Tony! You mean a Predator is more cool? I love the design of this iconic figure, too, and I guess I could incorporate tons of ideas in this thing. I really love the Predalien, and this would be a cool thing to sculpt!

Some time back I have tought about making a Predalien bust, but not like in the movie! I think I would concentate more on a combination of all the predesigns they made of this creep. I have a making of book on doing the fX on this movie and hell broke loose as I saw the sketches and ideas they had for the mix up monster. it could be done in 1:6 or even 1:4 but I have so much on the workbench that it would be an overkill now.

oh man i love behind the scenes stuff. i always wanted to do movie fx. creature stuff. but pound for pound aliens and predator (mostly aliens vs pred) have the greatest behind the scenes stuff. even on youtube, the making of videos are long. and the concept art. so good. sooooo good. I could literally watch realtime how a creature goes from concept to final, including watching the foam latex dry, and still be enthralled the whole time. thats why im all over your threads, i like seeing it. its kinda inspiring me to draw more.

Do it mate, draw till your fingers bleed! You have talent in doing so and I could imagine that your are a great monster designer! I have tons of MAKING OF... books, but the best I have gotten within the last months is THE ART OF THE EVIL WITHIN. It contains tons of colour pics of concept art of this game, and the monstes shown here are so over the top that its a paradise for someone like me. I guess, if you are in progress pics you will have to see a very lot more within the coming months. My workload becomes bigger every day! By the way, I was, way back in the 90ties, doing some film job sculpting on a childrens animation project. Sadly, financing stopped and the whole idea of a series droppend. But it was a great adventure!

i love all those games (as weve both mentioned), ive been playing RE Remaster, just came out on Xbox1. I have evil within as well. its pretty good so far. Ill have to check the art out. Even with RE and other games, the concept art is always really good. Obviously games are limited by the assets they use, but the art is usually well detailed.

Exactly the way. It is strange but I have come down a bit from playing since I discover the art books of those games, and they are far more interesting for me. Weird!

Frank not weird at all. i pretty much play them for the nostalgia. i think the making of and art of most movies and games are far more interesting.
