Hey, how cool is this! The Base leaves enough space for a cool plate and the kitchen itself, well, mucho room for disgusting things, I hope for, as bloodsoaked wallpaper, inestines lying on the floor and buckets of blood... stop here! You will have more than enough ideas yourself, mate! Keep em coming, I am very curious!

Thanks Frank and Todd, Unfortunately the cork tiles didn't turn out very well after getting a primer. Some looked very good others chips everywhere, I have since found something else to use..update later! Found some retro wallpaper at work which I will use. Busy week at work/home so not a lot of bench time! Thanks for looking in!! Shay

Hi guys, I have only had a few hours to work with this weekend. Applied the wallpaper to the walls, got rid of the cork tiles and used something else instead...grout was drying so in the meantime I scratched a small kitchen table from styrene foam. Cheers, Shay

Todd, Seems that Photobucket doesn't always react well while using anything Apple, have experienced problems like this in the past! Did manage to get some sleep but not enough!! Thanks for your comments mate, I still have to try and join the figures more into scene by adding details such as the table etc. I have gone for a greenish tint for the walls but this still has to be weathered with some mould and wear and tear!! Cheers, Shay

Thanks Andy, Leon and Bill! @bill...I saw John Everett's fantastic cork work on the dio section and decided to have a go myself. I think the quality of the cork wasn't good enough for interior tiles, outside they would of worked out fine. After all of the cutting I wanted to find an easier solution. At the local art store I came across sheets of clear "stick on" numbers and letters...easy substitute! Proceeded with spraying a primer followed by either black or white, and a protective varnish.Ready to be peeled off and glued down. The grout was quite harsh and I didn't want the tiles to get too scuffed up, hence the varnish. Still a loooong way to go....but itching to start on my three busts (what am I doing!!!!) so I have my hands full!! Most of my elements in the dio will be scratched as 54mm is too small and 1:12 dollhouse size is too large. The odd one or two dollhouse pots might work... Thanks for looking in!

Too bad the cork didn't work out. But the black/white tile scheme adds a look that cork would never provide.
I've been getting a good laugh in watching the crazy characters come together.

Thanks John and Guy! @john...the quality of the cork was an issue but the floor had to look quite sharp. I still have to lightly sand the grout and seal it before any gory pieces can be added. I learnt a lot from your current build which gave me a further push in this project, I hope it's coming along nicely! @guy, I have scratched a few extra things which I will post this weekend! Hope your ear infection has cleared up mate! Cheers, Shay

Neve done? Quit sure! The "woodwork" looks very well done, the table rocks even more! Now you have to put some food on it (guess, what I think of, harhar!). And what about an axe rammed into the door? Or a hook with some skin hanging from it. Muharr, like saying My wife has the skin of a 19 year old girl. Meet my wife and there hangs the skin. So in this direction! I would be interested in your ideas for the kitchen, what do you want to add more??

Hey Frank, I have added a few extras last week...skirting board, fan above the oven, door handle and a creepy crooked looking painting on the wall embedded in a wooden frame. My sculpting will be tested too....I scratched some pots and pans and have various hands and a head from some old Verlinden resin 120mm figures I will be adding! So...a few decapitated hands with veins hanging off them, fried brains in the pan and a chopped off head. I'm waiting on a small scale carpet which I will place somewhere. The goriness will be plentiful...dirty walls, filthy kitchen, bloody handprints on the wall, blood spattered everywhere...and your idea of an axe stuck in the door will be the icing of this gory scene! Ps hope your wife doesn't read your posts lol!!!

Pics, Shay, were are the pics?? That sounds very promising, mate, very very interesting. And to tell ya, that sounds like crying out for "realistic" hero figures, like a Leatherface or some meat grinders. You know what I mean! I think your hellish kitchen will "look like hell" when finished. I count the hours!! Ah, and Claudia did not read my writings, no Sir. She loves my work but thats it (lucky me!)
