If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the precipitate.

Thanks fellas
Yeah Bill, like you said, hard to stop where you're having fun. It's one of those things though that by the time you say to yourself you've done enough, you've done too much

If I can take a break between the brats I may get some paint down on this. I decided to go with a nice clean look and with he nice big, and very clear, canopy there's still plenty to be seen closed up. As I was holding it all in place while the Tenax set up... very fast as you know... I see something on the shelf that made me give an, "Oh damn!" By now the only way to get the canopy off was with a saw so that changed to, "Oh well." I must be mellowing in my old age. There was a time when I would have been cussin' like a sailor for hours. Kinda like a "Where's Waldo"

Thanks Leon. I got my fingers crossed . Thanks Anthony. The simple answer to your question is ... Yes. Take 2 busted planes and make 1 good one.

I'm guessing it's the holiday weekend influence on your attitude Marc! Looking forward to seeing you get that scheme on this one. Definitely will be an eye-catcher and conversation piece wherever you take it.

I see the piece on the shelf, but certainly can't tell you what it is (nor would I notice that it were missing).
Paint! Paint! Paint!

Thanks guys. Still had a spot or 2 to mask but got the primer mixed and hope to shoot it in-the AM.
Marc, that's the armored glass that was supposed to go in behind the windscreen.

The compressor has been working overtime the last couple of days. Between work, rocking little Wes in my arms and painting it's been a busy time. These steps will look familiar. Mr. Surface black primer Alcald Chromate painted and chipped. That's not the actual chromate coat in the next pic. The hairspray was so thick out of the can the second water hit it it turned into a gloppy gooey mess and it was impossible to keep any of the green in place. So more water to clean it off and the HS was sprayed with the AB for a nice thin layer. A lot more work getting it off but better overall.

Wow! That looks like the real deal already. I would guess then that the blue will be pretty worn so as to show off a considerable percentage of the chromate and aluminum?

Thanks John. The amount of blue worn away will be nowhere near that. But I figured I'd have a nice big canvas in case I want to put a few chips here and there. The vast majority will be in the inner wing areas and around the cockpit.

Thansk guys.
Doogs. I am lovin' the idea of it for sure. I'll hold off until I see the final result after reading the comment on your site about the restraint needed. Something I have already shown to have a lack of when it comes to chipping.
Aw Jimmy... why so sad?
Yeah Bill I better keep 'em separate. My daughter would disown me if Wes woke up with a dark blue face with little flecks of silver and green.

Hi Fellas A quickie... Trying the technique I've Seen Jimmy and Doogs master with the color on a black primer. (Hey boys... that got name?) I doesn't show in my pics very good but the tonal variation is really quite something.
