Well I thought I would get this build blog started. I will work on t here and there while doing some commission builds. With all the intact vehicles I will need a wreck to keep things from getting too boring. Of course this build is due to Bill and his Sdkfz 222. I remembered I had the AFVClub Sdkfz 231 which has a great suspension and lots of interior detail, but no motor. The only 8Rad I built was about 13 years ago and it was the old Italeri kit, so it's time for some fun with a new kit. Here is kind of what I had in mind and will be using other reference photos to come up with my own version.
Lots of studying of the ref photos before I start the kit, but once I start I will be posting some pics here. I also plan on wrecking a 251 later this year.

Oh good! I was wondering when things would start getting back to normal. You had me scared, building all those lightly worn things (I know, you do what you gotta do for commission work). This should prove interesting!

I guess I was not the only one wanting a good ole wreck blog again..lol. Cheers fellas for the comments. I am still digging up ref pics but could not fight back the urge to get started....yes I am weak. All I did was to remove and clean some of the larger main parts and a few small chassis parts still to be cleaned, then the gluing will begin sometime this week.
Found another great ref pic of a late version.

T this kit is perfect an all out wreck. The parts are nicely detailed and the large plates are very thin.

I just realized the first two pictures you posted are of the same vehicle. Guess it was in process of being broken up.

Pulling up a chair! Looking forward to this one. Just don't make it last as long as the Grille build and we'll be ok.

Nothing done to the kit as of late, other than removing some parts from the sprues for cleanup, oh and some notes on the instruction sheet for a rough idea of how I might want it to look.

Brett, nope. Gonna wreck the front end only on this one. About 13 years ago I scratch built the Tatra motor for a wrecked Italeri 8 Rad and in the end not much could be seen. Basically OOTB with this one since the chassis and interior is well detailed, might add some linkage and rods for the pedals, steering etc.
