F-111 Hobby Boss 1/48

Being more of an armor builder lately, I started modeling with aircraft. This is still something I do on the side, building an aircraft goes much slower for me, mainly for all the filling and sanding needed in aircraft building (which i really hate when i need to do that a lot) and i get demotivated. But it always comes back to me and i want to finish at least one aircraft per year. 

This years aircraft kit is the Hobby Boss F-111




The build until now in a few pictures.







































This is just a dryfit but shows the size a bit.





Needed to do some filling on the intakes











This was just how far i am now. Next step will be painting the interior parts, exhaust, intake and bays. Finally after that i can start thinking of closing it!

Just keeping busy... But don't worry I don't judge

I kicked on my airbrush and compressor for a short paintjob on the F-111. I've painted some parts which will needs paint in a short while black. The wheelbays and some bombs.




The engines, only the outer ends because the rest won't be visible.






And some other parts, the parts that will be red on the wings. Reartail and stabalizers each only on one end. This needs to dry before i paint the other side.

Thanks guys. Been really busy with this one today.

First i painted the bays etcetera white.



Than the edges red, had some work from this because the red wouldn't cover real well.



And after it was finally time to close it! 




And i also did some comparing, next to a 1/32 Mig-29 and it's allmost as big! Not bad for 1/48 scale right?





There is still a lot of work to do but whe are getting there!

I'm liking this one. I've been interested in this kit, and I'm anxious to see what the final analysis of the fit and detail is. Great work so far. Keep it coming.

It's pretty good. I've seen a lot worse, but also seen some better. I've mainly had troubles round the cockpit area.
