It's interesting to me the scale-creep that has happened with gaming figures. They started out at 25mm, and then slowly grew to 28mm until 28mm became the new "standard". Sculpts continued to inflate over time as the models got beefier, and now they (you know, "they") have moved up to 32mm. You look at figs from the 80s vs 90s vs 00s vs now and the difference is quite substantial.

LOL...probably the folks making them can't see than damn small to sculpt them!! It may just be the level of detailing, or the industry might be calling for slightly larger figures.

Both, I guess Todd. I could spend hours talking about GW and its figures and especially the policies behind the brand (pros & cons - cons overweigh imho). But there are alternatives, and after all: Its a matter of taste and your wallet. Sometimes I regret not living next to Hamburg city. Tactica 2015, the largest small scale expo in Europe just closed its doors for this year. www.phoxim.de/forum/index.php?topic=14584.msg225841;boardseen#new

Money and necessity,,,who it all works!! If there is a demand for smaller figs then they are made! I think there is some "transitioning" in scale, up-scaling to fit into the collectors mindset versus the gamer. While I do like the detailing a bit more on the larger scales, the smaller ones have much more of a selection and pretty cool designs in their own right!

Did you guys miss the memo? Bigger is better...in the model aircraft world we have been doing 1/32 for a few years...and frankly we are tired of the tiny size, so we've got that new 1/24 Typhoon and more 1/24 stuff on the way I'm sure...I'm just holding out though until the shift is to 1/16 or whatever's after 24th...I should be firmly in mid-life crisis mode....ok...now I'm off to put some larger tires on my truck.
Neat figure btw. Can't go wrong with a lady with a gun...well...actually...you could very well go way wrong I suppose.

LOL...well as it pertains to a lady with a gun, nothing better than a good woman that can kick your butt!! I think there will always be a call for "bigger" with everything. May actually come down to the fact that the older we get, the hard it is to see what we are working on!! Well at least for some of us...LOL!!
