Andy, Leon - thanks fellas, it goin well so far,. Leon, the barrel is Metal so its intact it just popped out of place wehn i was handling it the other day. Turns out its easier to weather with the barrel off....got lucky i guess! Gary

That lower hull is stellar! If you don't mind me asking did you use pigments or those AK earth effects in the background?
Always look forward to your builds.
Cheers

Cheers #57 Hey Jeff, What ive discovered (was told) is that Tamiya X-20A thinner makes great pigment fixer and it does! Ive has a bottle for several years now that i never use because i use Lacquer thinner to thin my Tamiya paints. I mentioned that to a fella one day and he told me to use it as pigment fixer. What i did is wet the surface with the X-20A and then grab pigment with a wore out short bristle paint brush then i just tapped the brush with my finger over the surface and let the pigments fall into place. I used Europe Dust first, then Iraqi Sand over that, but i let the first round dry before the second application. THATS IT!!! Hope that made sense bro, Gary

Thanks Gary.
By weird coincidence I have a bottle of x20a I didn't know what to do with since I don't thin with it anymore. I'll give it a shot.
Thanks again

.... We can't have a Tiger prowling around without it's gun can we The gun's there. You're looking at the prototype of the "Sturmtiger I" armed with a 170mm launcher. Coming along just great, Gary.

Splendid stuff. Weathering is spot on if you ask me. Looks very well used, but not overdone at all. It's really come together nicely.

Gary. Can I pm you my postal address so you can send it to me when you done. Yeah.............................. NO!!! Thanks so much for all your awesome comments you guys, i sure appreciate ya! I hope to have some work to show ya on the base in a couple days. The base is a re-work from my T-62 base from 2-3 years ago. Its been setting in the closet gathering dust and the T-62 is in my display case. I figured id make good use of it. heres a pic of the original base with the T-62 on it.

My 2 yr old just walked up behind me while I had a photo of the T-62 pulled up and he said "Hey that's a big cool tank!". I agree.

With building and painting skills like yours who needs a fancy 1000 parts count Dragon kit with tons of aftermarket stuff on top of that? You got your techniques down cold to the bone. Can’t wait to see what you’re going to do with that base? Any figures in the plan Gary?
