Foreword:Please do me a favor - dont start a political discussion here. Im aware that Benito Mussolini did bad things in history and my intention is not to glorify him and his person etc. Its all about the paining fun. If you want to share your personal thoughts about him and his followers in history, please send me a PM, if you like and keep it out of the WIP. We dont need that here.
And so another figure project starts. The figure itself comes from Pegaso and is 1/32 scale: Got it today from a modellers brunch, we have this every February as a "season warm up". I got some more figures - but that will follow later. The figure is already primed and cost me 3 €. Yes, thats right - 3 €. The reason is simple and sad at the same time - some time ago a club member died and left some models, which are sold step by step for more or less ridiculous prices. And if I can help his family out with a small gesture like that- even better. Best regards, Lucas.

Hey Lucas, This will be an interesting one to paint especially with that huge jaw line and cheekbones being so prominent. It's a nice gesture that these figures end up in safe hands to be painted another day!! Which one of the two options for the figure will you be going for? Hope your Saturday night is rolling along nicely mate!

Hope your Saturday night is rolling along nicely mate! The yaw line is really a bit challenging. Hope Ill get it done. There is only one option for me, the grey uniform, because the figure came just like that. BTW - I got two other figures, a El Viejo Dragon medieval Knight and a Verlinden Punjab Cavalry Officer (120 mm). Something completely different and not my time and theme, to be honest. But here again - its for a good cause. And a resine figure in that scale from Verlinden for 5 bucks? Done! Leon: Thanks! Just wanted to make it sure, and had that on FB some weeks ago (in this case it was a Skyhawk diorama, its throwing Napalm over a village - and those explosions - from a craftmanship view - were perfectly done. And so a needless political discussion about Vietnam itself started Todd:See above. DP:Youre welcome. Popcorn, anyone?

The flag and base are off to a great start Lucas! I really like the worn out look of the flag too as Andy already has mentioned, nice touch! I didn't know the Muss was a secret red head lol. Looking forward to seeing you tackle the rest of the painting, his chin is almost as big as the base hehe

Oh yeah, that chin is really remarkable. The "worn" look was done by simply sanding over the painted surface - vintage look so to say.

Yep, this looks really good till now! First, I love the Base! The Flag is a great idea and the marble effect on the stairs looks very realistic (ahem, this IS no real marble?), makes a cool combination with the red carpet.
And now for the figure: Pegaso did some outstanding portrait figures and I think, they all are a bit "comiquesque" (don`t ask why I think so) but that is no point of critisism, I think it enhances the figures even more! So I am in as usual in figures and cannot wait to see how you will proceed!

Some additional painting followed - I tinted the light bluegrey unifor with a very thin green, just to highlight it with the base color. Insignias, madals etc followed - there are tons of details to paint!
