Guy- Thanks partner! Am really itchin' to start painting it but I think it needs another night to dry. Its little chill in the basement so it takes longer for primer to dry just to be safe. I took care of the collar so it is ready to be painted next! Jeff- LOLOLOLOL My fav shot glass... I use it to hold small parts during builds. That way I rarely loose them now... Deano- Hope you are cool that my Garand shoots straight now? Thanks buddy! Leon- Thanks wizard! Have all paint all lined up...

Wow, very interesting to see a big scale figure painted black fpr priming and work out the paintjob on this primer. Stay with patience here to watch what you come up with on little Clint (you can skin me alive but I see another actor in the face, but cannot make out what guy this is, grmbl...). The figure looks really crisp, and the rifle is fixed easily. So now for the fun part, the detail paintjob. What are you waiting for??

Frank- LOL! Thanks! Its great having you back. Hope to start painting soon... maybe tonight! I like to allow primer to dry for at least 24 hours but this time I think it needs more than 48 hours just to play it safe because of the temp in the basement being much cooler than normal. I like to primer everything in black if possible now. Terry- Gentle? Please define 'gentle'... LOL Thanks buddy! Mr T- Thanks boss! Had too much fun last night... told her what you said. Fighting little hangover at this moment... LOL Loved Vallejo primer by the way! Guy- Oh, that was the easy part... fill water in the mug and drop the "blue" pill it went straight in a heart beat! Thanks my friend!

Ah, I see, you get a new car! And where is the trailer with all that fuel, harhar!? We here are the lucky ones, only two deays of snow, very little, a bit of coldness and now we have spring temeratures. Time for work outs out there? No way, time for taking the colours, brushes and sculpting compounds and start working again!

Yeah, and by the way, which colours will you use for the bust? Acrylics, oils? Enamels?

Frank- LOL! It has been a very cold winter but "not enough" snow here in Indiana. It finally snowed last week. And now we are expecting temp to jump to 50's later this week so are we finally seeing the end of winter? It has been a busy weekend celebrating my wife's 45th birthday, a farewell for a dear friend who is moving out of Indiana and a friend's 40th birthday! I don't think I will drink booze for a very long time probably not til the Auburn weekend! LOL
Robbo- Thanks! I will do my best to do more detailed S-B-S... sometimes I become so focused on my work that I forget to take pictures! LOL
Frank- I am huge fan of Vallejo. I also use LifeColor too. Since I have US GI paint sets from LifeColor I will probably use them more than usual. I got rid of enamel paint long time ago after dealing with skin rashes... no more toxic thinners and cleaners at the bench too! It was best for my lungs too. I will use oil paint only for washes as they will be heavily thinned at the very end. Thanks buddy!

Ah, now I see why you are a bit abstinece for now. Good luck with the recovery from so much parties...!
And painting in acrylics is always fine. You are like me with the paintjobs, acrylics and oils for special effects. If I could paint like Armorguy, I would go for oils, too, but am more comfortable with acrylics. Like you, Vallejo and LifeColor. The last are really well!

Frank- COOL! We are practically brothers now? LOL Dave- AWESOME! Glad to have you aboard my friend! Guys- Quick update... nothing exciting but I started painting base coat on most of the bust. I did some highlighting prior spraying the base coat too. I will be using LifeColor pretty much on the bust... I think I got everything I need for the gear. LOL I don't think I will follow the box art... too uniformed in my opinion. I collect WWII relics and the green rarely matches!! So I will be using as many tones as I can... Looks like I need to head back to the hobby shop as I don't have US Olive Drab. Dark green was not good match for the helmet... stay posted!!!

Andy, grab your Garand ammo belt, suspenders...and try to make your own colors, you will see how BIG FUN this is, the colors you mix are richer than the paints ready for use. I must admit I don't have many colors on my shelf. you're on your way my good friend, keep going, it already looks good !

Andy, sure are we brothers, COLOUR brothers, harhar! When you decide to buy an olive set, there are some available, from Vallejo (but I guess, this is for vehicles) and the one from LifeColor. The colour you have put on looks so cool smooth, very well done! Can´t wait to see you shading and highlighting it!!

Guy- Thanks partner! No problem at all... that's part of my plan each will be highlighted using different paint too. Hope to do little more work because I am afraid I won't have much time when it gets closer to the show this weekend. I have been working on the base for my past build StuG III... I can't just enter anything without a base. That's a curse I have now I am afraid. LOL
Mr T- You have arse? Last time I saw you I don't think you have any arse... LOL Trust me I don't think it will be done anytime soon. I have set goal to have it done by April 3rd before our spring break trip...
Frank- Thanks my brother! I noticed how easy it was to paint using LifeColor... just unscrew the cap, dip the brush into the paint, again dip into the thinner then paint! But its pain in arse adding LifeColor paint into the airbrush. That's where I like Vallejo better with their eye dropper bottles... can't have both! Glad you like it so far...

Great start, Andy. The paint looks so smooth and flawless. So I'm assuming you use the LIfecolor for brush painting as well? Do you also use an acrylic for the skin tones, or are you going to use oils?

Robbo- Thanks mate!!! I collect WWII stuff too. Bought a complete chainstrap for my German M42 Luftwaffe helmet today and it is coming all the way from England. Can't wait to make it "complete". LOL Now I am in hunt for a decent M35 Apple Green Heer helmet. Wish me luck! Terry- Thanks my friend!!! Bill- Thanks professor! Trying to keep up with the program so we can do our duel sooner I hope! Deano- Gosh!!! I was afraid you were going to pay the price for dealing with those 1/72 scales... they are not much work out for your arms I figured. Get a bigger drum cause I can "barely" hear you... remember I am as deaf as a post. LOL Thanks buddy! Jimmy- Thanks my wingy buddy who is itchin' to build an armor soon, right? LOL LifeColor is as great as Vallejo in my opinion. No need to thin it when I hand brush in most cases. It is just that they are harder to find here while my hobby shop stocks every paint from Vallejo. I use acyclic pretty much on everything until the very end when I start to use heavily thinned oil paint for washes. Ron- Thanks glad you liked it too. I can't wait to do more! Nice avatar by the way! LOL

Quick update on my GI... most of base coat has been painted except for the rifle. I couldn't decide which paint I should use as base coat for the wood on the rifle... gonna rest on it until tomorrow. LOL
