Very nicely executed Peter! I like the guy in the suit and tie. Me too! He has that look of being an insurance adjustor or customs broker!

He may be in the insurance business ? . He is a passer by who stopped to look. He would really like one so he could get in touch with his inner " Wild Side " on the weekends, but alas he is only dreaming. He knows his wife would beat him up if he took one home.

Peter After you kindly commented on my scenery post I thought I should return the favour and have a look at your submissions...... and what can I say but what a very eclectic mix of subjects and all brilliantly done!! Multiple thumbs up! I met my Kiwi wife here in the UK but we travelled to NZ for the wedding and honeymoon and your Triumph Herald reminded my of one incident I will never forget whilst on a NZ country road. We were on the middle of the country miles from anywhere, on the way up from Auckland to the Bay of Islands for our honeymoon, when we came over the brow of a hill and could see an old looking ute on the road ahead. To me the ute appeared old, as the driver's door had clearly been replaced with an old spare but had not been repainted, as it was much darker than the rest of the vehicle. Then it slowed down and turned right, off the road, into a field and I realised that the drivers door didn't need a respray.....as it was completely missing - no door at all!! Needless to say, as a law abiding Brit, I was stunned that it would even be on the road but my wife informed me that such sights were not uncommon out in the NZ sticks!! Thanks again for taking the time comment on my post and for sharing your brilliant work!! Thanks. Andrew PS Where abouts in NZ are you?

Hi Andrew Thanks for your kind words about my odd little dioramas. I am in Dunedin in the lower South Island. Did you get down as far as this ?. The South Island has a quarter of our countries population and the prettiest scenery. Dunedin was settled mostly by the Scots in the mid 1800's. My ancestors came from Irving in Ayreshire in the 1850's. I have visited England several times but this year will visit Scotland for the first time. Not many one door utes about now, the law has got a bit tougher in recent years. I still have a Australian Ford Falcon ute ( pick up ) Had utes most of my life for moving motorcycles.

Peter No problem at all - credit where credit is due!! Your stuff is great! Unfortunately we never made it south of Auckland, what with the last minute wedding prep, honeymoon and then catching up with friends and the same happened on our next two visits - a bit of shame but the budgets were fairly tight. Maybe our next trip but with two young kids, it's not getting any cheaper..... I hope you enjoy your visit to your ancestoral roots - I've made it to Edinburgh once and really enjoyed it! Here's looking forward to your next build. Andrew
