Hello everybody. I got a halfway good start on the nose. I thought I would heatform the whole thing, but the glacis plate area didn't work for me. It got cut off and replaced. I'm hoping to get more on this in the next few days. Thanks for looking in.

Hello everybody. After a pretty hectic holiday season, then a bout with carpal tunnel and some minor basement flooding, I'm back to working on this little beast. I finally managed to get the suspension trucks ready to go.

Hopefully your doing better with the carpal tunnel and no more basement flooding! Been there and it's no fun cleaning up. Glad to see progress being made and the suspension trucks look good.

Thanks Leon. Fortunately on both counts it was't too bad. My left hand goes numb, and I can't hold anything.

Hi bruce
I've only recently joined so missed the start of this.
I have to say what you're attempting is amazing and what you've already done so far looks fantastic!
Great job keep it up and I hope the carpal tunnel gets better soon.
Andrew

Thank you kindly Andrew. Welcome aboard. I did get a little more done on the hull. I got the front two sets of travel stops on. Here's an overall of the hull with a ruler by it to give you an idea of the size of her. I have started the final drive housings, and hope to have something to show on them soon. As always, I appreciate your input. Thanks for looking in.

Not a giant in 1/16 but the Matilda was quite sturdy. Looking good so far Bruce!

Thanks guys. It is good to be back at the bench. I was surprised at how small these are when I saw the one I did.

Hello again everybody. I managed to finish the suspension mounts, bogies, and springs. I had to see if they fit, and was very happy to see they did. I should be starting the rear of the hull tonight. We'll see where she goes from there. Thanks for looking in.

Looking good Bruce! The bogey design on the Matilda suspension definitely earns the prize for 'uniqueness'.

You are absolutely right Bill. I debated with myself about making the parts. I decided I had to do it the way the real tanks were built, even though most of this will not be seen on the finished model. I like my decision.

Hello all. I am making a bit of progress on the nose, just not enough to show yet. I did start in on her tail end. I will be ordering the punch and die set so I can put the rivets on the rear very soon. I should also be getting a good start on the drive housings. I do have a question. I am wondering if I want to build the version that used the return rollers, or the version that had the rails to support the upper track run. Any ideas? As always, thanks for looking in.

Hello again. I didn't get to the drive housings as I thought I would. I got back to the front end. I remade the lower part. It fits pretty much like it should. Of course I had to see how the glacis plate would fit. Neither of them are exactly where they need to be just yet. I am hoping they will be this weekend Thanks again for looking in.
