I just completed the Airfix Stuka for a FSM Gb and thought I'd share the results here. This being the second 1/24th Stuka I have built, the first one was way back in the mid 70's when I was station at MCAS Kanehoe, this one was in the stash for some 10 plus years. It's a fun kit to work on and looks good OOB or adding some extra detailing as I done here. The major issue I had was at the end of the build with the cowling panels not fitting but HEY! it's Airfix and I had the same issues with their FW-190, Spit and P-51. Was my plan to leave the side panels and upper cowling off anyway to display the engine.
I modified the kit gunner strap and figured when not in use, it would unclip and hang down on one side.
I used the RB Luftwaffe seat belt sets, had to get two for the bird.
Was adding wiring of various sizes, stips of foil for clamps and a placard decal set.
The decals are from CAM, being they were also 10 plus years old I was concern that the would crack on me which the underwing crosses did but it was not too bad and was an easy fix.

Hi Legend!
The kit is mid 70's tooling but it is a fun model to work on and that cockpit and engine just begs you to detail it out. If I were to do another and wish to have the cowling panels on, I would simply mount the engine block to the frame so to hold the prop assembly. glue the panels and seam fill the panel gaps. I got her in the display case with only the bottom cowling on so I wasn't upset with the panel issues.

Very nicely done Bat. There are a number of these older kits out there that are just rough jewels that just need to have some extra effort and they can really shine. Great job on this one!
