They were probably part of some long forgotten game system. However I think they will work well in this setting. More painting to be done and weathering and there are decals to be added.

Duuuuude...the Warhammer looks GREAT! I need to dig up some 28mm future-infantry figs to put next to my big guys. Would certainly help establish some scale.

Cool! Nice work. i love those Manga cartoons. Have a lot of these on DVD. Macross / Robotech was one of the coolest. Good weathering. Maybe i have look around for a Manga model. Patlabor, Gosht in the shell or Appleseed. Love your work mrt51!

It would be cool to scratch build one of these in 1/20 scale. I have this one. If anyone fancies some of these "Dust" walker models, check out this current sale (3 pages worth!): www.waylandgames.co.uk/59_dust-studiosRegards, M

Great work mate, this looks fantastic! These sort of kits really do need figures to give the uninitiated a sense of scale! I have both the 1/35 Horizon MadCat and the Armorcast 1/60 rendition. Awesome kits, and neither of them will ever get built due to their rarity! I do have plans to reproduce one using the kits as a guide, probably 3D printed, depending on the cost. Oh, I also have the FASA blueprint set which includes the MadCat, Vulture, Thor and Loki. Cheers, Sam

If you see something funky please let me know. Don't see anything funky...but I do see something AWESOME! How tall is this (to the top of the SRM launcher, say)? Trying to figure out what scale it works out to in the Battletech universe.

Trying to figure out what scale it works out to in the Battletech universe. Well the book says that most mechs are about 30 meters tall. The model is 7 or 8 inches tall and it is 1/72 scale so that works out to be 48 feet or 14.63 meters tall. And..... thanks

If I do that I can only build one of each! The aim is to use the original Armorcast kit as the master and make molds so that I can make a number of them. I also want to use the Horizon kit as a template to make one or two big ones. I have also heard that being vinyl, the Horizon kit, being so large, sags over time, and needs a substantial amount of internal bracing just to not fall over. Plus, if I plan on doing a scratch built and illuminated cockpit that will only add to the weight and exacerbate the situation! I feel I am better off using the original kit as a master and making the new one out of something more sturdy. But thats just me..... Cheers, Sam

Do you have resin casting skills that will let you make good copies? If so, then I'm all for seeing you crank out some extras!
Any idea how the Horizon vinyl reacts to paint and/or primer?

I have painted tons of vinyl figures in the past, mostly stuff from Screamin` , Sideshow and Horizon. Never primed them and absolute no problems with acrylics (even multiple layers and washings cause no problems at all). These were kits up to scale 1:4 (the Screamin stuff) and to protect them from turning over I pressed normal daily newspaper paper in every square inch of the hollowed parts, stiffed it in with a brush grip so hard it goes. It was better than using some kind of plaster (it causes water when drying and thats not good for the kit and an eventual paint job!)
