I have painted tons of vinyl figures in the past, mostly stuff from Screamin` , Sideshow and Horizon. Never primed them and absolute no problems with acrylics (even multiple layers and washings cause no problems at all). These were kits up to scale 1:4 (the Screamin stuff) and to protect them from turning over I pressed normal daily newspaper paper in every square inch of the hollowed parts, stiffed it in with a brush grip so hard it goes. It was better than using some kind of plaster (it causes water when drying and thats not good for the kit and an eventual paint job!) Frank There you go! Thanks Frank!

Do you have resin casting skills that will let you make good copies? If so, then I'm all for seeing you crank out some extras! Hey Dupes, Yeah, I have a bit of experience in resin casting, but only in the basic room temperature and pressure variety. Something like these would probably need a pressure vessel of some description to ensure no bubbles. In all honesty I would probably look at 3D printing of some description. At the end of the day it all depends on cost. Actually, even that is a moot point at the moment, as I haven't even completed the 3D model yet! But to answer your question, I'm sure I could manage to "crank out some extras" when the time comes! Cheers, Sam

For those who are interested (sorry to hijack the thread of your awesome work Terry!) this is where I am at with the Madcat. As you can see, still much to do and some of the parts need more detail. Measurements are taken from the Armorcast 1/60 MadCat... Body parts... Feets.... Pew-pew thingy... Explodey firer.... Back of explodey firer.... Main body. I have reached the cockpit, which is tricky. In reality, it changes shape as it tapers to the front. Imagine an oval cross section standing up which tapers to an oval cross section on it's side. Tricky. Still trying to work out how best to do it. My aim is to probably try and get these parts 3D printed. Still much to do before I get to that stage though! Once again, sorry for hijacking your thread Terry, we now return you to your regularly scheduled program!! Cheers, Sam
