Hello all, here is my version of a Lattorre Models Officer 54mm 5th Georgia Infantry (Clinch Rifles) 1861. It is a metal casting of the highest quality painted with Andrea & Vallejo acrylics. The sword blade was buffed bare metal coated with acrylic gloss varnish. He is posed in front of some home made Gabions, wicker frames that the soldiers filled with earth to make defensive works. These were made by using cocktail sticks, suitable distressed and solder wire ( a la Stan Catchpol). The plinth is home made from MDF and 'sappelle" wood veneer. I hope you enjoy him, thanks for popping by. Dennis

Thank you Bill, Andy & Biskup, I must admit that I still own the Military Modeling Magazine book by Stan Catchpol which is full of many ideas to help the modeler to make stuff like the Gabions and I refer to it a lot. Biskup this is one sweet figure to paint however the sword blade need careful placing to allow it to marry up correctly to the hilt, in the end I drilled a small hole in the hilt and placed the blade into this and filled it in with Milliput very carefully. The beauty of the Milliput is that it gives you time to position the blade correctly. Again gents thanks for your support and kind comments. Dennis
