Hey Gaz, yer off to a great start buddy! Great kit choice too, mate. In fact, it is the only accurate OOB kit out there at the moment when it comes to the Longbow Apache. Pretty much every other kit gets the back end of the sponsons wrong, Hasegawa are the only ones to get it right! I have this exact kit in my stash, plus the Wingman conversion set to convert it to an Israeli bird. On top of that I have the Eduard cockpit update set, because, well, I'm silly. Looking forward to the next stage, mate. Cheers, Sam

Good to see you back on the bench Gary, wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery too. And happy belayed birthday!!! Was wondering where you had gone, was thinking maybe you had dropped the base you were working on for the Africa Tiger I and ran away from home because you didn't know how to tell us? Great start on the Apache Longbow, the interior looks awesome. Like how you managed the cockpit displays and instrument panels. Bet you can't wait till most of the build is together so you could go around the room flying this bad boy and making 'chopper' noises while blowing up imaginary targets.

It's AH-64 month, apparently! Great work in the cockpit already. And nothing wrong with hanging flying things from the ceiling over your bench, either.

Lots of progress there Gary. That rotary shaft to blade assembly is stout and really looks the business. Looking forward to seeing you do your magic with the paint on that assembly (hint, hint - some close ups please). Have any plans to add figures to the cockpit before adding the canopy? Just wondering?

Hey fellas, thanks for all your great comments. Been another long while since i posted...still havin some health issues even though im much better. Its limited my bench time, but ive knuckled down last few days and got some serious bench time. I preshaded and Painted the Apache with Vallejo Air which i didnt like at first. It doesnt seem to want to spray well right out of the bottle as advertised and i had some trouble adjusting to preshade no matter the air pressure i tried. When it came to the base color (Camo Grey Green) i had the same issue only a little worse. I started adjusting with the Vallejo thinner annd i found a ratio that let me spray beautifully, now i really like the Vallejo Air. I Put 4 drops thinner to 10 drops paint and BAM...that was the key for me. Its also been glossed with Future. Thanks, Gary
