Ok, may be a little outside the wheelhouse of most of you, but this is exciting on two fronts.... First, It's a WNW Sopwith Camel which is awesome. I'll buy a couple. Second, I was right. WNW said they wouldn't do one and a bunch of people bought that pile of poo poo too - for whatever reason. Yeah right..."here at Wingnut Wings we see no value in printing money by releasing a kit we could charge $150 and sell out in a week." Riiiigghhht.....up next? A Dr. I bwaa haa haa

Yeah baby. i got the email form them today. They also said they would never do a Spad XVIII but the Camel proves there's hope for anything.
That reminds me...got to get a couple of Albatros D.Va OAWs before they're gone too.

I believe the D.Va is gone....but again...I don't believe for a second that all these now OOP kits don't make their way back...they aren't melting the molds down to make new ones....and after all...MONEY...and who doesn't like MONEY

I will be buying the snot out of this one - at least three of them. And hoping a SPAD XIII isn't far behind.

I don't know that I've seen anything about the Spad. I think it's funny how In every "what do you want WNW to make" thread I've seen multiple people always say Camel and are immediately followed by "insiders" telling them it will never happen.
I'll lay a huge chunk of money down right now that they do a Dr. I. Why wouldn't they? In their infancy sure it made sense to be less "cliche" with early releases. To me it's a no brainer business decision at this point.

This one is so iconic in people's minds and with the 100th anniversary of WWI playing out over the next couple of years, I'm sure the market dynamics are going to be very different than they were when WNW started producing kits. I certainly wouldn't bet against the Dr.I also showing up and the possibility of a 'duel' set that pairs them up.

A Dr.I is completely in their interests. It and the Camel are probably the two surest hits in all of WWI aviation.
Even if they're cliche, the money they print for WNW will give the Kiwis freedom and resources to keep doing obscure subjects to surprise and delight. Kinda like Porsche with the Cayenne.

When did they say that about a SPAD?
I've asked a copy of times but it's been a few years.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Duelist set at all. I'm at least buying two of the Camels. I'll build one relatively soon and I'd have one to hoard.
