Not an expert on Russian army infantry uniform colors but in the Modelmaster enamel line you might look at Field Drab and/or good old Olive Drab and mix up your own shades for a little variation.

Vallejo sells "Russian Uniform" Nr. 924. Frank True, but the tank riders are wearing padded winter gear, which is a lighter colour than the standard Russian uniform. Got the same set and was thinking of using the Vallejo colour and lightening it with a bit of flesh highlight.

Dierk, definitly! I never use the colours straight from the pott and always mix them a bit with similar colours to get the faded look!

I just wanted to add my "2 cents'. A lot of modelers get caught up in actual colors. While on the drawing boards, the Russian uniform of WWII may have been designed as khaki drab, or light drab. The actual production of uniforms and their corresponding colors varied from plant and year of the war. Not to mention materials received from the allied aid programs. I myself struggled for YEARS to appease the great model gods and their minion in IPMS. Only to realize that if I took a 1-1 scale anything and shrunk it down to 1/35th scale their would more than a few people that would proclaim to the heavens.... "that that color or whatever isn't correct". My point is within reason if you like the color than use it. Don't ever get caught up in actual colors.... There are way to many variables.

Cant add anything here as the guys have nailed it ! I use the Vallejo Russian Uniform for the base colour and just add other shades to lighten and darken . I agree with PJ2 also , recently I got hooked on the 4bo trap and recieved great feedback from the lads here . It really is down to what colour pleases you in the end
