I bought a fig from Warriors and the face is ok, better than kit figs, but the facial features are not that good. How are the faces/heads from Hornet?? I know and see many modelers who add figs to there models use Hornet heads. I think with good facial features it might be easier for me to paint them, especially the eyes. So are these Hornet heads worth the money

Hornet heads are expensive, but they are the best you can get. I use them exclusively. Probably the best thing about them is the range of expression on them. You can literally find one to suit any situation you put your figures into. I can't recommend them enough! Gary.

Here is the dude I am working on. As you can see the eyes are not the same size or shape. This makes it harder for me to try and paint. I am on the third attempt and am ready to bin him. I can assume then that the Hornet heads are better than this dude.

Hi Rob I use Hornet heads exclusively they're not cheap but superb IMO. I normally use the heads on the main figures; background figures I normally use OOTB These are Hornet heads from three sets on my BEF figures The figures are MiniArt, Tamiya and SKP Smudge

Yeah those heads do look great. I will check the show for a deal on some heads. A big show like this should turn up something. Thanks Smudge

Me too, I have those russian tankers from miniart that definitely need some better heads (and a better painter than me, but they will have to surrender to destiny).

yup, I agree with the fellas: Hornet heads are great! I used them for the first time. Being no figure painter at all, the well defined head made painting A LOT easier. I'd say: get a lot of them in your stash Rob, they always come in handy!
Cheers

Painting a Hornet head is ten times easier than another head ! Especially the eyes are sharp, no soft expressions on a Hornet head. The sculptors are Artists !!!

Hi Rob , i think the Hornet heads worth paying out for as you can just use shadows and high lights and get a good result. If you are pretty good at figures on normal brands then Hornet heads basicly paint themselves. The details are so good you wont use any other heads after that. I replace Alpine figure heads for hornet heads aswell. The supplier where i got cheap heads from in the past dont have any any more.

Mine came in the post on Friday and they are really nice, So I tried one on the fig I'm Woking on and it looks tiny on the body it just don't look to scale, it could bet the body so will need to try it with another body.

yup mate, I had that issue with a Mini Art figure, way out of scale. However on Alpine and Dragon figures it should work (at last the one I used ^^)
Cheers
