Hello all, It has been a fair while since I posted any work on the site, so to rectify this I am going to post a WIP on my latest 2 models. These are a pair from the excellent Tommy’s War range entitled Christmas Truce 1914. In the box you get a British Tommy and a German Landser in the act of shaking hands. I have painted these mainly with Scale 75 acrylics, these acrylics dry to a dead flat matt finish ideal for clothing & equipment. I also used them for the flesh tones and I am very pleased with the results. For leather work I used my Vallejo and Andrea acrylics, because these dry with a slight sheen. I am going to base these two on a snowy/frosty landscape and finish them with a slighty muddy appearance. I will post the completed model meanwhile thanks for popping by and please enjoy. Dennis.

Fantastic. The scale 75 paints seem to be awesome. I need to look into getting some.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Wes the Scale 75 paints are giving great results so far really matt finish. Here is some views of the finished model on its plinth. It was my first attempt to portray a snowy landscape, I looked at various photographs of the truce and tried to portray that initial meeting before the ground got trampled on. Thanks for popping in. Hi Dennis!
I've included this beautiful set form Tommy's Figurines on my wishlist too. Now, when I see what an awesome result you'v got, I'm more determined to get it for the winter session. I like very much your composition, nothing is forced, the groundwork is just what it meant to be. Warm congrats for such a lovelly result, mate! Cheers, Nicolae

Hi Dennis, I really like this.... Dramatic, thought provoking and sober all at the same time. You have really captured that cold/ weary look on both figures, (excellent painting mate) and the accompanying groundwork is top notch. Just thinking about this scene makes you realise the dire situation these soldiers faced....they were probably dead within a few days due to fighting or being lined up before a firing squad... Cheers, Shay
