i started the m1a1 aim this weekend and this kit also suffers from a poor fit on the hull. just at the same spots as your problems arose... but nothing noone could handle... your fit seems been worse than mine. i hope my m1a2 sep v1 kit will fit better...

At least you've found the problem before you started building the model ............I hope ? It took some surgery and in the end I had to just live with some of the fit problem and not expose them in my pictures . Good luck my friend .
