No way to learn new things other than by doing them!

Just as a side a note. Before you spray more paint over a layer of previously dried paint. Make sure the lacquer thinner has been thoroughly rinsed from your airbrush and the bottle. Or you will see with no problems exactly how many layers or paint and primer you have added to your model.

Lacquer thinner is powerful, and unforgiving, stuff! Sounds like you got a bit of a shock, hope it's not too serious!

Just a small part of the upper tail section. Sanded down, resprayed the black paint and waiting for it to cure. Will reapply the Alclad sometime soon.

Thanks, green was added along with the black undercoat for the section that is being repaired. Once that cures, will spray the Alclad and hide the lacquer thinner on the other side of the house. Needs to be nowhere near this thing.

As an aside, since I seem to be fumbling with my terminology when I am trying to type something out. These are the red stripes I am thinking of doing. Photo from Eduards.com website

Glad you decided to fix the overspray, those red bands are a nice touch and will naturally draw the eye!

One trick you might want to try with brush painting to get things smoother is to dip the brush tip in the appropriate thinner first, then touch it into the paint and apply. Takes a little bit of practice, but I've found it to be a great way to improve brush-applications for things. For some colors that don't cover as well, like white, you may have to do more than one pass, but it does work. HTH!

My mistake was spraying Tamiya Primer *bonehead mistake I know* in an effort to cut down the amount of layers due to priming. Will need to work on that next go around.

Okay, this somewhat of snag on this build, hence no updates. I am trying to decide on weathering it or at least giving a panel wash. Unfortunaletly, since I kinda butchered some of the panel engraving, I know it will highlight that. Or I could just go ahead and mount the pylons and drop tank and leave it nice shiny. Any suggestions?

Maybe be selective with pin washes in the panel line, avoiding areas of concern. But all shiny is cool too.
