Figures look good to me Scott. I'm by far no expert when it comes to figure painting. One thing it looks like they could use is a flat coat once done.
The more you paint, the more you'll learn and develop. There are so many techniques when it comes to figure painting that its easy to get lost and discouraged.
I'm really loving the beat up look of this vehicle. keep it coming!

Thanks alot guys! A bit more work on Mr. Tough Guy. Actually spent a few hours on figures tonight. I'd like to get them finished before returning to complete the truck. Still have some blending to do on this. I toned down the colors a bit.

Thanks guys! Getting closer to getting back to the pickup and then onto the base. +++ I have to get outside! Too nice to be doing this right now, lol. I've resolved that my first round of figures are gonna be like some of my ex's: Beautiful from afar, but far from beautiful. I could spend countless hours trying to get this 'right'. I am calling those first 3 finished..with the exception of a matte coat and a wash. 2 more men and chicken and a cat.

Thanks DickyF. It sure is tricky. I"ve learned alot and continue to paint as many figures as I can, as the opportunity arises. It's a skill that I definitely want to work on. Here's where I'm at:

Thank you friends. I'm ok with them. Like I said before...this is a skill set I want to keep working on. Gotta get some really good brushes, a couple at least then assemble some more figures and keep practicing.
Back to the truck for now.

Very nice work on the truck and figures, the Meng pickup has proven to be a very popular subject lately. The contrast between the blue and white pieces is a nice touch as is the detail on the tires and interior debris. Definitely looks lived-in!

Thanks guys. I appreciate that. Really digging this build. Tons of fun. Another baby step tonight. Got the rear window masked and the windshield cut. Dipped the WS in future as well.

Hey Scott, Regarding good brushes for figure painting, I know they are expensive, but they can be bought on line at a huge dicount. Get your self some Windsor and Newton series 7 brushes. you should only need a few sizes, but they are worth every penny. Keep em clean and take good care of them and they will last a very long time.
Hope this helps.

Totally helps BigJohn. I'll look into that.
Any recommendations on sizes...something to help me get started on a good set?

Just checked out those brushes on their site. Look to be about $20US each. Probably a bit cheaper online.
Really that's not insane. I pay $5-$7 at Micheals for a brush that doesn't seem to last all that long. If these, with proper care, last 3 or 4 times longer then it's really worth it.
