Thanks martyncrowther. It's a great little kit. Bit of an update. Took care of a few smaller items such as window weather seals, door handles, clear parts, rusting out the homemade racks etc... +++ Guys, been thinking about the front grill and bumper. It's 'chrome' now...but more like silver faking chrome. What do you think another go round of hairspray and then semi-gloss black, chip that a bit to reveal the 'painted' bumper?

Thanks BigJohn! I don't remember when I enjoyed a build so much. I think I'll have to get the other one with the big gun. +++ Decided to go for it - hairspray, flat black the bumpers and running boards. Another round of chipping. Another layer. I think some AK products will help to vary the revealed 'chrome' parts. Another mockup below. I have to get this thing assembled once and for all. All this handling is risking damage! You may notice that tiny damage on the fender doesn't follow through on the bumper. Gotta fix that.

Thanks guys! Still moving forward - at the 3.5 week point with this now. +++ As for the bumper, did this last night after posting. Too late to change my mind now. This truck is dying for some kind of beefed up bumper....Hmmmmmm

Love how this is looking Scott. The different colors really make the model stand out. The chipping and rust looks great. Now glue this baby together bro. A mad max style bumper would be very cool eh.!!!

Thanks guys! So far my 'at least spend a bit of time per day and keep moving forward' plan is working. Here's a 20 minute bumper bar thing. The small end of a couple of paper clips, drill out some 1/16th rod and 2 pieces of styrene cut and shaped. I might reinforce this with another horizontal and maybe bend the lamp covers around the corner a bit, we'll see. It will attach to the frame, at a later date, via 2 'returns' attached to bottom and to frame of truck.

Thanks guys! Here's the final brush bar. Once I have the cab, grill and bumper glued solid I'll add this.

Thank you sirs! I appreciate the comments. +++ So. Cab, grill, bumpers, tires, running boards, box, all now attached. Had an odd fit issue with the rear box. It's not sitting on the frame. Needs a shim maybe, it's off my about 1mm. Wipers are just sitting there. I want this too look like it was shut off in a hurry...and maybe the wipers reset on off - but not on this one. They were wiping the dust off the windshield....Door isn't attached either. Photoshop - dual image/erase rig - trickery. I still have some major gaps to fill with putty between interior door panels and doors. That's a wrap for tonight. Thanks for watching.

Probably the most ingenious use of paperclips I've seen. Very nice work on bringing this one together so far, looking forward to more.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate that. +++ After a quick PB&J Sandwich I managed to drill out the 'hinge locators' and get the doors on. These are not glued in place, gotta paint over the putty first. When it comes time to superglue I'll be sure to get them dead-on level. Here are some pics.
