Not really armor but.... Here's what on my bench these days; Meng Pickup in 1/35 and a Masterbox Iraq #2 Figure Set. Lots of pics. First, I opened a couple of doors. Then some basic assembly. A bit of sanding to smooth the cuts. Figures assembled. Stowage assembled. From a German figure kit. Door cavities filled with 2pt. Epoxy (Aves) and pinned. Interior base coated. Base coat of sponged rust shades. Hairspray chipping. Base of flat blue, hairspray chipped. Salt and then a coat of gloss blue. Pics are kinda bright, real thing isn't so dramatic. Kinda odd but filters and weathering should tighten this up. Tires sanded. That's where I'm at with this so far. More soon. Thanks for looking.

Thank you friends. Minor update tonight. Our Freedom Fighter Friends kitbashed another Hilux enroute. Not sure if you can see it, but there's a layer or grey (primer we'll call it) and then white. Lots of AK Fluid between each layer. Going for...depth.

wow, I nearly missed this one. Good to see you blogging here again Scott....and a non sci-fi subject too. Love the HS chipping and the rust tones. The dent in the door is a nice touch as well. I have the same kitty so will see how you paint yours. Figs look cool especially since most of the faces are covered.

Thanks Rob. Gotta agree about the faceless figures. Hopefully a good subject for my first 1.35 figure painting. Tire BulgeI picked up some 1/72 threaded bolts, washers and nuts from the local HO Railroad shop. Drilled out the rim and tire, insert the bolt, washer and tighten the nut. Instant bulge. Do you think it's worth it? Visible difference?

Another quick update: DIY Roof Rack #3My third attempt and modeling a home made (by the rebels) roof rack. This time using .040" (1mm) styrene. That scales to 1.4" or so. Angle anchors are .060 styrene. Still needs a bit of clean up.

Thank you guys! I appreciate the feedback. I feel like a bit of a comment pig, not commenting on other builds more, but I really want to keep this momentum going...and if I start browsing..... +++ The kit comes with a 'standard' roll cage. Cool and all but I want to make this one my own. Here's a DIY 'cage'. I can now hang stuff off the sides and mount the gun to the top (like with the standard roll cage). Just makes this more my own and opens up some options. The chopper is a great tool btw.

Thanks guys! +++ Got the interior assembled and weathered tonight. Really weathered. This cab is gonna be full of garbage...paper, bottles, cans, chickens, you name it. I went extreme on this because after it's closed in I expect to loose some of it.

Thanks very much guys. Really appreciate the comments. +++ GarbageThe interior needs a good reason to be that dirty and the reason is the fact that these guys have been living in this truck for a while. A was able to get a 'test shot' of a cool "Middle East Rebellion" graphic sheet from - the soon to be open and online - Armor Farm. While this isn't the final artwork it does contain some neat 1/35 diorama accessories and, IMO, is just what this truck needs. There's a wide variety of items including boxes, newspapers, soda cans, cigarette packs, posters, currency, fast food packaging and a few other little do-dads. This is laser printed paper and required cutting, folding/rolling and gluing. I spent a good hour preparing the items pictured below. I haven't attached anything to truck yet, just getting a feel for how it all looks. Some items, such as the box, will require a bit of pigments to give them some...depth. Fun!
