You're taking the best approach with the tracks Spud, chip away at them steadily and you'll have them done before you know it.

Well Spud, you can also check the Flakpanzer gepard its also have the vinyl tracks since the kit is not mine, well I had to no choice but to build it OOB as the owner requested since he will make 1/72 scale of it.

Hey Spud, I was looking at correct tracks for this kit before it went your way - I love Friuls but these one's looked MANIC so I'd already opted for the kit DS jobbies. I'm either a wimp or just very sensible! Love the dust effect, I have seen you mentioned pigments sprayed with thinners? Can you expand on your method a bit please buddy as it's something I'd love to try. Ben

Like armorguy asked, what is wrong with the Friuls? I have these tracks on my T-72 and it was easy to assemble. They give a tank a much better and more realistic look (because of their weight).

the pain in the ass part of the fruils of these is they come in two halves and one have has a a male and the other a female fit. Some of them fit and some don't. So once i have some pads on ill let that dry then ill drill out for the pin, So they are not your normal fruils.
Ben spraying the AK pigs is Easy. mix up some with Tamiya X20-A really thin too thick and you will clog the ab and just spray try it on scrap first to get a feel for it tough,

Nice dusty look on the Shermie!!! Sorry to hear about the Friuls... know you will make it work. Maybe put the rubber tracks in the dryer and run it few times until it shrinks?
