Hey guys, time for a real fun project now, the Admiral diorama was set aside for a couple of weeks and the coming days I go for a Tamiya kit of the BT-7, model 1935. This time there's no after market items involved, just Friul tracks and minor additions from myself. I want a straightforward build, nothing tricky...painting and weathering an having lots of fun ! Rivet counters be warned, yo're going to have a hell of a job telling me what's not right, what's not accurate ! So relax and take a deep breath, because that's what I am about to do now ! First update comes up soon, best regards ! AG.

As I've seen the tank, I was wondering if you were going to add the lateral skirts, as in the first issue of the Weathering Magazine... But I take that you will cut away the front fenders, as in the picture you posted, and make it whitewash Well, whatever you'll decide, I'll enjoy your talent at work, so bring it on

Count me in of course! Are you going for that white washed BT-7 like in the picture? And I can not count rivets so you are safe! LOL

Wouter I just couldn't resist any longer, after seeing those magnificent armor projects running here on Rob's site. This is such an inspirational place to be. The BT-7 has primitive looks and I really like the model since I've seen it the first time. Luigi, I've added the front fenders this time, and it will be a white washed one. The turret antenna wasn't used. I hope you will like the look as it is now. spud, you're always welcome mate, jump by anytime ! Gary, man this is something for you, it such a fun model, it came together simply by shaking the box ! Flawless fit too, and not hundreds of parts for a change, so quite straightforward ! I can already focus on the paint job ! Dicky, let's hope the model won't be messed up, sometimes I'm good at that too you know. I'll do the best I can to keep the masters here satisfied ! Andy, thanks mate, it will be a w/w version, with the fenders on the front, the photo in the introduction shows a BT without them... Rob, you're welcome fella, I will try to make this one an interesting piece of Russian armor. Bill, jump by anytime, I'm surprised that this little Russian has the attention of many builders on SMF. Guys, the build was done before I even knew, it was a piece of cake ! As I said before, flawless fit, not too much parts, just enough to make it convincing. Now I can concentrate on painting and weathering it. Best regards ! AG.

Hey AG
Looking good so far. I am a sucker for the 1930's and early war tanks. Working on a Panzer IV F2 now but have my eye on a 38(t).

Luigi thanks for the photo, that's a nice looking BT-7 ! Mike, I'll check out your work asap buddy ! Dicky, this looks like my first speedy project but I was very relaxed, the kit really falls together shaking the box. I can recommend it for a chilly project. This is what I did today : I mixed a lighter version of the Russian green to give the hatches and horizontal parts a bit more light, just for the fun of it and also for depth in the model. Best regards ! AG.

You weren't joking about the quickness of this project That's one tank I'll probably do in the next future, its strange turret is something to be built for a russian ww2 armour lover like me Nice "light" CM, all your builds and paint jobs are stunningly clean and spotless, you keep amazing me

Luigi, painting and weathering are the reason why I build my friend, that's my real fun part ! Gary, no paint in the box while shaking my friend, that's something I had to do myself LOL ! Wouter, there's pain(t), hope you like the green ! I never used this color before. snipersmudge, thanks fella, it went well that's right, the build was big fun ! Dicky, woosh is the exact word my friend, all goes well on the work bench, I hope it will continue this way ! The turret was whitewashed (hairspray method), varnished for protection and a raw umber oil paint wash was given. I also applied Humbrol enamel white paint to use as a pin wash around bolts... Next to do is whitewashing the rest of the tank, then I will finish up the turret ! Best regards ! AG.

If the turret's an example of what's to come, you've definitely got a winner in the making here Guy!

Wow AG the turret is looking good. Interesting technique using the white as a pin wash on the white wash. Thanks for sharing!

Luigi, thanks for your support as always my friend, I'm glad you like the whitewashed turret so far.
tojo, thanks, it's only a soft colour modulation as I didn't want to go too light with the base green, the white has to make contrast on the green.
prof, thanks mate, I hope to see you back in business after your time out.
wbill, today I start whitewashing the turret, but I'll do that in different stages and sections. Today the sides of the lower hull will be done.
Dicky, sorry fella, I didn't express myself well. This is the way I did the turret : - Russian green, - mist of satin varnish, - pinwash of Humbrol enamel (thinned with Humbrol enamel thinner=quick drying time), - oil paint wash Raw umber.
* I also use the white Humbrol to soften the contrast here and there.
Mike, thanks bud !

Andy, coming up for you mate, the w/w on the hull was done this afternoon after a good walk with my doggy ! Finally it's winter now, no more rain and a lovely sun in the sky, and a temperature just below 0...love it ! Wouter, I keep looking forward buddy, that's the new Guy after my time out, no time wasted to worry about microscopic imperfections (that was the former Guy !). And man I'm having so much fun. The hull is ready now to receive the dirty oil paint wash (Raw umber). Best regards ! AG.
