I tell ya Wouts, this seams a nice kit and im lovin the anti slip surface already molded on. That second pic looks killer....has a tuff- mean looking stance.

Can't wait to see more... I like the second pic too. Why is it always muddy in Germany? No kidding about Duvel... my buddy and I went to see movie World War Z right after drinking some.

Gary: Thanks bro! I agree, that second shot looks cool indeed! Mmmm, those flashlights on top of the turret give it an original look...dunno how I could scratch them though :\ Mister Andy! Thanks, and why always muddy in Germany...same as in Belgium, often lots of rain I guess mmm...Duvel before a zombie movie? Hope things were alright afterwards with you guys? and aloha, an update gentlemen pretty much finished the hull...well, some minor details need to be added and still need to do the fenders, but other than that it's finished. I made some progress on the turret as well. Again some minor mess-ups by Dragon, the 'back' part of tthe large bins on the sides of the turret have been mislabeled, so care has to be taken. Same goes for the smoke dischargers (forgot to write down the wrongly named parts), but nothing to difficult. Smoke dischargers haven't been added yet btw. And yesterday I gave the lower hull and wheels some mud texture since this will be a muddy SOB. Plan is to paint and weather the running gear first and then glue them in place. When I'll paint the rest of the tank, I'll be doing some masking. starting to look like an Abrams now In hindsight I could have used the plastic barrel. Sanding down the seam lines wasn't superb, but I just found an AFV Modeller Mag from last year where both the editor (Merkava IV) and Zack Sex (T-90) didn't manage to get totally rid of the seam...a hint of it is visible in the photos (if you look clearly...one of my things is that I pretty much always manage to see details which others don't )...but then again, the metal barrel ain't bad as well Tamiya's texture paint...really something easy to work with! back of the turret needs some filling...quite messy ey? . No worries though, pretty much nothing will be visible when the stowage basket is in place that's all folks Cheers

Thanks a lot mister Bill, will do! Dan, thanks a lot bud, a lot of things I could have done better I think, but in general still pleased with this kit next update you say? Here it is! I finished the Abrams buildwise, the turret rack has been installed...was actually much easier than I expected. Other than that I added some smaller details and finished the skirts (not in the photos) Not sure if I leave the jerrycan rack on the back of the turret... Cheers

Another vote for the rack... Going by the pics it looks like a nicely detailed kit and you've made a tidy job of it...and in record time!
Cheers Si

thanks for the comments and votes for the rack gentlemen...it will be with the rack then Well, since I'm at home this week and got some time in between painting the kitchen walls I decided to continue this baby. Finally got me a decent tripod for the camera and a decent background...much better ^^ I gave the Abrams a hint of primer on top of the PE parts and metal barrel (not the complete model this time). After that the Tamiya Nato Green was sprayed on. Ready for the camo now Cheers

whehey, glad you fellas like it so far...love the comments as well jackwagon AND Andy, no, no NATO colors on the kitchen wall...Even I would think that it is too much Yesterday and today was a bit of basement time . The tracks were painted (I slammed a couple of different paints together, didn't know exactly where to go) using Tamiya Buff, Flat Black, Hull Red and Mr. Hobby Mud. Can't say which ratio exactly On the hull sides it was time to apply some muddy stuff. I used AK Interactive Earth Effects and Summer Kursk Earth for this. Just loaded a brush with it and made some splatters using the AB The drive sprockets got a treatment as well...first some 'spongue' chipping using Vallejo Camouflage Black Brown and after that some AK Dark Steel pigment was applied...really love that stuff! Well, that's it for today buds and ladybuds ^^ Cheers
