Many thanks gents, very pleased with your comments no big update, just sprayed on some Tamiya X22 Clear thinned with Cellulose thinner (it melted my plastic mixing jar!!!! ) and after that I applied the decals. On some places there is silvering...but again, luckily most of the lower hull will be covered in dirt I also used some AFV Club stickers for the lenses...looks cool! Cheers

AFV Club stickers? Did they come with the kit or it is an aftermarket set? Looking awesome!

fellas, thanks for the magnifithingy word, makes me smile Andy, AM indeed. I was never able to paint my periscopes in a convincing and tidy way. I came across those AFV stickers and they look awesome (very much like the real deal I reckon: from one angle they appear to be red, from another purple and another blue/green...how cool is that!!!! Only thing was that they were for the Tamiya kit and it seems there are a bit of differences qua size between Dragon and Tammy, so had to resize most of them I'm really looking forward to next step...if the clear has cured enough by saturday, it's dirty time!!!! (and I hope I find the lost periscope by that time...no carpet in the basement, but nevertheless a carpet monster - hence the open lid on the turret) Cheers

Funny you should ask. Just did little post shading this morning and want to tone it down with some lightened base color then an over spray of a heavily l lightened Tamiami Buff filter (95/05 thinner/paint). from above. I should get some pics up tonight.
Let me guess..Andy wants to marry it. He can be so fickle sometimes

mister tanker, thanks a lot mate! Will be totally different now I gave the lower hull several muddy baths now...thinned AK rainmarks for Nato vehicles was used. And when dry a couple of days later, I added pigment to the mix and re-applied. Still not there yet. One should ask the question why I bothered painting the camo ey Cheers

Steve, Bill, imatankerer and Paul, thanks a lot gents, glad you like it so far CB, thanks mate, she sure has indeed. One of the shots which I quite like is this one: (just showing for reference purposes) and that's a great idea, but that would mean I need to remove some again...mmm...no Leon, and wing_nut, many thanks dudes!!!! Well, second stage today: a bit more application. I added a first layer of wet mud to the running gear: AK Mud Effects mixed with their Wet Fluid Effects...not glossy enough to my taste though Cheers

Now I understand what you mean by Fabrizio's inspiration The dry mud looks great, it just seems that it was soaked with muddy water, left then to dry
