dogfish, Bodge and Bill, thanks a lot gentlemen. Not sure if the weathering of the sprockets was worth it though, since a lot of mud will be used Started today with the first mud application: dried mud. I brushed a slurry on the wheels and tracks (Tamiya Buff, MIG Europe Earth pigment and demineralised water), when dry I brushed of the excess next step will involve some wet fresh mud. Hope I don't mess up things ^^ Cheers

thanks a lot for the great comments fellas! ^^ In a word....was the chipping and steel effects worth it - Errrrr NOPE! Come to think of it, yer needn't have painted the lower hull at all Wouts!!!! This is really looking fantastic Casey - very realistic mud effects there....a reminder though, don't forget to treat the inner faces of the skirts too - I've lost count of the comp entries I've seen with superb mud jobs but with pristine side skirts!! Keep it comin' Bling, this is is gonna be one special M1 yeah, thought about the mud on the inside of the skirts...same goes for the inside of the road wheels: although hardly visible, some parts are visible so they will get a treatment as well. Hope to pull it off because I find realistic mud very hard to achieve...we'll see, plenty of time to check out some stuff. Thanks for the vote of confidence! Cheers

Wouts, nice build Bub. Sorry I missed the start How fresh do you want your mud to be?? I have had good luck mixing some of the same color pigments you use for the dry mud with some satin or gloss acrylic. Doing that makes the mud a little darker and gives it a "wet" shine. If that's not dark enough, just mix in some darker pigments to get the color you want. Try it on some scrap first till you get what you want Hope that helps.

thanks a lot gentlemen, Imatanker, thanks for the help bud ^^
Well, I masked the tracks and wanted to start doing the camouflage scheme a couple of weeks ago, but I noticed my 2.0 nozzle of the Evolution needs a replacement...bummer, so it'll have to wait (I hope) only a couple of days...
Cheers

Nice dirt mate ! This will come out great on the green of the tank ! So you made a sort of slurry ? Must try that too next time ! You won't mess it up...you're the Woutster man ! Can't wait to see the dust added to the hull...

About KMK...well, totally forgot about that one. Honestly, I haven't visited any show this year . Would love to drink and chat with you though!...it's been a while (guess that was two years ago at ModelForce Can't go this weekend, got other plans sadly. What about other shows later on the year? Do you plan to go to the one near Mechelen (Belgian Scale Modellers Convention)? Cheers

Hi Robbo, thanks a lot mate, and it's a great kit I must say! Replacement nozzle and needle for the AB arrived this week. Since the PzIII is getting a bit of drying time, I thought it would be great to try to do the camo. Didn't turn out 100% as I wanted but I can live with it. The camo is a bit blotchy, but it should pose no problems after the heavy weathering treatment next step is the clearcoat and decals, and then the fun can begin! Cheers
