G...to my eye,the pigs around the rivets look a bit too 'contrived' I think is the word?...doesn't look natural, for some reason?

This is turning out very nice, That sand pigment looks very bright to me though

G-Man I think if you could take a stiff brush and remove all but a faint trace of dust around the rivets would be better. Dust will collect big time on a horizontal surface but not near as much on the vertical. What you've done till now has been very good as you know. Tony lee

Thank you all for the honest critique.
As soon as I posted the pics it was readily apparent the dust was way too bright. I apparently applied them way too well, as it is a chore toning them down. There is still some trace of pigment lingering, but I have managed to improvise.
I have gone back and re done most of the tank. I'll get pics and post them later.
Again, thanks for the comments.

Hey guys since this rig is operating in the sand box what do you think about thinning some buff 90% and spraying a light dusting over the whole shooting match for added effect?

I agree with John, this toned down version looks much better. I also agree with tony, I'd go for a light misting of buff on the surfaces more exposed to dusting. All the pics I've seen of the desert war showed giant clouds of dust coming from the tracks of each tank, so if you weren't in front you'd end up covered with fine desert sand.

Making good progress there G! I concur with my esteemed colleague's previous statements, but it's up to you in terms of where you see this one headed.

I apologize for my absense, however I have been building. Here's where we sat as of this morning. I mapped out some areas with a sand colored enamel. I let this dry for a few hours and went in with oils to accent some of the edges and texture. Last will be a dusting of Tamiya Buff via airbrush. G
