LVTP-7 R.O.K. M.C. 9/22 Took a bronze medal today

Hi guys! Thanks to Deafpanzers donation, this is my entry for the group build.I'll be doing the R.O.K. version.According to my web search,this AAV is in service in alot of countrys and is being up graded.Sure wish i had more decal options.Hope to start this later this evening after the Mrs. is done canning our tomatoes,greenbeans and making pickles.

Oh yes, marking opions...I've had a Stug sitting on my shelf for ages because of lack of markings - but now I found that Armo do a set!

Evening fellas! The build has started and so far only one small problem with the sprockets that took me an hour to fix.Acadamy doesn't mention that there is a long and short rear sprocket hub.They tell you to use the long hub and that caused the sprocket to stick out beyond the drive wheels during the test fit.After looking at the sprues again I found the short sprocket and gently pulled the sprocket assembly apart and glued the short sprocket on.Viola everything lines up nicely now.Sprockets,idlers,drive wheels are glued up and dry fit.The propellers are glued in place.

Let's hope the sprocket trap is the only one in this kit. This is hitting the sweet-spot on my weidometer.

Makes you wonder why the wrong sprocket parts are there in the first place... Glad you caught it in time to do something about it.

Bill I have to agree with you.Being this is my first Acadamy kit and a date inside the lower hull that says made in Korea 1990.I'm pretty impressed with it.

Evening fellas! Made some more progress tonight so try not to laugh to hard at the following pics. :DGot the rear door assembly glued on and then it was time for the upper hull. It was slightly warped and a bear to glue on.The thin cement was of no use as it dried to fast.Ended up using MEK and starting at the rear I worked my way to the front Appling rubber bands as I went to hold the upper hull in place.Everything looks ok,so I'm going to leave this to fully cure over night.

Nice progress on the battle bus. Nothing a little traction can't fix by the look of things. It's why I keep a good stock of different size/types of rubber bands around myself. The paintbrush handle for a little extra tension or even placement is a trick I've used as well when the occasion warranted it.

Evening fellas,the rubber bands did their job so I started adding the exterior details.Tools,spare track links,headlights and hatches are on.I left the hatches operable even though there is no interior.More detail work tomorrow.

Evening fellas,the build part is now finished.Tracks and wheels are dry fit and sitting pretty.The side skirts will go on after the tracks are on.Just need to hit the LHS for some primer and paint.Hope you like it so far.
