That's pretty good so far, particularly the seal you've achieved at the bow. At the end of the day, acrylic caulk is just nothing more than very thick acrylic paint. I would guess that the paste you've used is probably just the same as a thinned caulk.

John thank you! I think this paste is more like thinned spackling compound only it stays flexible.

Good display idea Leon! A little pulled tissue paper and some acrylic gel gives nice wave crests.

Tobi,that sounds like a great idea! I planned on using a angled paint brush and pull up the crest on the final coat before it sets up then give them a white wash.

Wake/bow wave effects look good Leon, don't despair! Even if it doesn't turn fully clear (sometimes thicker applications take longer to cure out depending on the medium), you can always go in and add some small color details to the bases of the white for example to give it a little visual variety and break it up just a little in the process.
