No way this one is sitting on its tail. Lol. Making quick work of the scooter. I assume you saw Matts comments about the struts being uneven? Just one more thing to be weary of. Keep it coming!

Some gaps my schedule and TV show I don't care about have given me some bench time. This is the LG problem doogs was talking about. The thing to be careful about is not doing a "Little Rascal" haircut. Going back and forth from side to side trying get it even. Ask me how I know. Thankfully it was just back (no forth ) 1 time. Starting to look like and A4. Needed to do some shimming. Made a cannon with nickel and aluminum tubing allow with a supplied PE muzzle. The USPS stopped as usual but this time with something other than a mountain of junk mail and bills. MER's, Mk.82's and... the coolest looking missile ever...the AGM-12Bullpup. The MER's have the pipes molded on so those were removed and replaced with solder rolled under a very coarse sanding stick to give is some surface texture. For the load out I decided I wanted both fuel tanks on the inner pylons. Then I went with the MER with 6 Mk.82'a for the center line. That left just the outer pylons. Once I saw the 1st photo online with the AGM's out there... decision made. I just to assemble and prime one of them 1st right away. When I opened the box I thought I ordered 1/32 scale by mistake. Then I looked at more photo and then the stats. Didn't realize the thing is over 13' long. Just more bad@$$ to me.

Got to love the rugged look of the Bullpup! No awards for sleek design there but definitely makes it look meaner.

Yeah those missiles were big alright. A full 1/3 the length of the plane. Seems like they would be to big for the outer pylon.

Hey Leon, thanks buddy.
Turns out I bought the wrong missile. The 12C was a bit too heavy for the outer pylon and but was used was on the inner mounts. The pylons would carry the 12A/B Looks like the same length but with a narrower body. A new set is already on he way. The C's won't go to waste since I can use them on an F4 for my clubs Phantom GB.

Working thru all the fiddly bits. The blade antennas are anything but blade shaped. Not too hard to file them to an aerodynamic shape but it wasn't until I was done I realized is would have been easier to just trim the sprue gate and chuck the kit part. The muzzle flash guards where about 1.5" in scale thickness so I made new ones with plastic card. It's always so cute when the kids take their first steps.

Nice little additions Marc. Don't you hate it when the realization that there was an easier possibility comes AFTER you've already done it the harder way?

Hey Leon... sorry for the late reply but thanks for the comments my friend. Finally moving on to the next stage. Every time I stepped up to the spray booth I noticed something else that I missed and need to add. But I think I'm finally passed all that and the hiss of the AB was soothing. The shaft of the tail hook was has been replaced with plastic rod. Since it's already white, painting the stripes was easily done by marking the width of the stripes with a pencil and chucking the rod in a Dremel. When spinning the dots make a little ring around the rod so just touch the tip of a brush with black paint and fill the space. Ready for primer Some of the fiddly bits. I did the black basing thing on the tanks and they look great but it doesn't show in the photos. I've decided the smaller bullpups are just as bad@$$ looking as it larger cousin.

Those Bullpups are lookin' hot!
I can see a hint of the black basing in the last photo but yeah think the lighting is washing it out.

Damn, first Doogs with his A-4 and now you!! Going to HAVE to get me a kit very soon. Will also see if I still have some old 110 or 35mm photos from the mid 80's when I was up close to these birds daily.

Anthony, Leon... thanks guys. And a sigh of relief. It went pretty well. Only some very minor touch ups. Again, hard to see but lots on tonal variations in there. Can't thank doogs enough for a tip on liquid frisket used on his 144 MIGs. Great stuff. He warned about the stink of it and oh brother was he right.

Nice choice on the tail, the tonal variation is showing up depending on the pics/monitor setting...nothing beats the old Mk.1 eyeball with the real thing in-hand though. Making good progress Marc, keep it coming!
