Some cool acquisitions so far and we only 6 days in. Picked these 4 up today. That Ford 50 looks bad a$$!! Will you be following the mustard colour of the box art? With a big block, a set of tubs and some meats in the back on that '50 Ford it would really be set off good. heh heh

Leon, YAP!! It is a HUSSEL shop, and beside sweets of all kind they have fruits covered in heavy milk chocolate. We love prums, apricots, cherries, oranges and mangos. I mean, no fresh fruits, it is those "dry" stuff, but ultra delicious, slurp! After eating a pound of this ("What do you mean? Today is my fruit-day, dear! HARHAR!!) you have to make two or three hours in the gym. Gargl...

All So here are my latest humble acquisitions - certainly nothing as exciting as a T-Rex!!! As always my focus continues to be on 1/72 wargmaming stuff and I'm continuing to try and add some variety to our battles, so.... PSC M5A1s for my British Recon forces and looking quite out of the box. (Yes - I know they're more likely to have been M3A3's but theres a reason for choosing these - and as Sean says "never say never where WW2 is concerned") For the Germans, 2x Revell Pak 40s. These are a bit disappointing - nothing wrong with the moulds themselves though (at least for wargaming). However, I forgot to check plasticsolderreview.com before buying them. If I had I'd have realised they're a remould of the italeri kit but in much softer plastic - think airfix soldier soft. So soft in fact I could probably bend the barrell around in a circle ......but I've got them now so I'll have to make do. On the upside though, there is absolutely no risk of the barrel getting snapped off in the heat of battle. The four 3d-printed bases below are actually for use with the spare hull and tracks from the PSC kit and I got them from the Shapeways site www.shapeways.com/shops/nmp. One of the members on the Britmodeller site has done these and a few other bits and pieces - they're not bad if a little bit pricey but are perfect for my future plans....but more about that in the future (sorry about the lighting but it was hard to pick the detail out - being white on white) Finally a 10/0 brush Nothing special in that but my young daughter remembered a conversation we had whilst visiting a local small model show where a I said I needed some much smaller brushes - so she bought me one for Christmas - all on her own initiative!!! (Sorry for the unashamed father's pride kicking in with this one!!)

My compressor died so I picked up a new one. Learned over the last few years that you gotta have a compressor with a tank when modelling. My previous compressor was a loud old one but it had a large tank. It lasted much longer than my previous Tankless Paasche compressor and was half the price. This time I went for a dual piston version. Boy is she a real beauty.

Thanks Leon,
I like it thus far. Lots of stable air to spare even with the compressor off.

Birthday presents incoming! The Model T is usually not my category - but looks very good and a certain person "forces" me to do it asap! Even comes with the real thing: vinyl tires. Well.... who could say "no".

I am happy with how quiet it is given what I am used to. Haven't done any major work with it yet just painting parts but hopefully this one will last me more that 2 years.

Picked up a few goodies online last week for steal! First up is a 1/9 scale kit of Grandpa Munster, I used to love watching the Munsters as a kid. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough during bidding so I missed out on getting Herman Munster for next to nothing!: A small 1/35 scene from Black Dog with debris and a knocked out Sd.Kfz. I have a small sitting civillian boy from Masterbox that should accompany it quite well: Trying to mix up my style of modelling I have purchased a number of 1/24 scale cars, something that never really interested me that much until I joined the forum! This VW beetle '68 which I have already started on will be turned into an abandoned rustbucket: Lastly a kit that I have wanted for quite some time...the 1/18 Pegasus Great White Shark with cage diver. This is a very heavy vinyl kit, highly detailed and you get the choice of two heads. One in attacking mode, the other in normal pose. I grew up with a keen interest in sharks, had a few close encounters with them while surfing in Australia and New Zealand and finally I have one in kit form!! Boxart followed by a quick mock assembly next to a 1/35 figure for size comparison: [/URL]

Great haul! The Blackbox thingie could be used, after some modification, as an Alien Base Backdrop. I have some ideas here (and had to look twice before seeing the SDKfZ!! The Shark is really great!! I would turn it into the Zombie Shark Neptune from the RESIDENT EVIL games. Only thing to do is sculpting here and there rotting skin and alter the fins a bit. Looks cool and reminds me on sculpting further on my Sharkmonster I had begun some time ago!

Sharkmonster? That sounds cool Frank! Any pictures? Think I'm going to keep the shark as it is..the vinyl is delicate by the feel of it!

Ah, the shark is done in vinyl?? Would not stop me from hacking him to pieces for Zombieskin!
My Sharkmonster, a bit inspired by the thing from the miniseries BEAST where Stan Winston did the mutating sharkthing and my own ideas of a shark that walks like a man, was begun some years ago and I had done more than it is now. But you know, sculpting as long as I am satisfied with it. It is a torso so far, make some pics of it tomorrow and open a thread. Maybe this could give me the inspiration to fullfill it. It could be a cool project cause I think the base will be even better than the figure itself...

Nice haul there Shay! I love the shark, never saw this before. Thanks Leon, I have had my eye on the Pegasus kit but it was always priced way too high..70€ and up! Managed to get this item for under 30€ so considering my interest in sharks plus the factor of large scale/weight this was a bargain! When I first picked up the box I was shocked about how heavy it was. Now I just have to figure out how to approach putting this thing together as viynl is quite delicate. There will be a bit of filling to do and I can't wait to crank the airbrush up!!

nice stuff guys.
I just love that Munster stuff. I watched them too as a kid. Would come home after school and watch them and my all time favourite Batman and Robin with the Great Adam West. The Brady Bunch too. When I was 8-9 years old we had one TV with 12 or 13 channels. Pretty basic programming back then. But that was okay because we spent most of our time outside horsing around with our friends. I should look into a Batmobile Model. That would be another cool model to build.

Man that shark kit from Pegasus looks totally awesome! Would like to see that one built.
Picked this one up yesterday for spare parts. Sheesh!!! I don't know how in the world Revell could market this kit under that theme and expect it to sell.Jeez!!!!! In any case a lot of the parts are cleaned up on these re-release kits so I'll be using some parts from this kit on my current build plus it will allow me to cut a door out neatly to use for opening the rear door on my panel.

In support of my avatar I've now got the following kit:
and will have this hood soon....
and these..............
These are aluminum wheels that I had made for it. These are aluminum, not resin and not plastic.
I got em in the four lug pattern so I could replicate my car...
One bad thing about having those skinnies on the front is the fact that they bend easy. I replaced the front wheel that's bent shortly after taking this photo. I guess there is a reason that it says "NOT FOR STREET USE" on the inside of the wheel when new. lol
