Those are my faves as well - some of the other builds were somewhat filler-type, but those two are too shelf.

Definitely do - those kits can be found dirt cheap and time kids love 'em!

Number 25! Needed a 48th multiprop for Granitecon in October - this is what got me going. 90's-vintage AMT kit of the F7F-2N Tigercat. This is the only kit that I know of that comes with styrene bits to shove under the tail because they KNOW it's going to be a tail sitter! Despite me filling the nose with lead weights, bbs, nails, and screws (it's heavy), this one still drags ass. Grrrrrr.

Alright - another batch of builds to put up. This first one was destined to be played with - most of the effort here was getting the little guy to help with the cutting of sprues and snapping parts together (good thing, because there's no way I was going to be able to match that color!). Polar Lights kit of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine.





Side note - it's already received some fairly catastrophic damage as expected!

Following that up with a shelf-queen cleanup in the Cyber Hobby Kommandowagen kit. Very cool - more of these from me in the future for sure. Also entered in the MoM, btw.

Last one for today is filling the "Motorcycles All Scales" category at Granitecon in NH next month - 1/35 Tamiya DKW NZ 350. It's not large - almost exactly two inches from end to end! Cool kit, although lacking the finesse of some of the newer bike kits (like Vulcan models stuff). I'm quite happy with how this one turned out considering it was painted in subassemblies and then assembled afterwards.

I think the bench-time hit I took back in April and May getting my mom into the nursing home will keep me from 50...but I'll get up to the "standard" 40+ without too many issues.

Next batch of pics to go up - wish I still had time to do these at work so I wouldn't get so far behind.

First up - a commission build...for my 3 year old. Hahaha. "Big Jet" from the Little Einsteins show. 1/72 Hasegawa kit built by me and him! It doesn't look like this anymore after being flown around the house (a lot).

Moved onto a more serious build after that - a 1/72 F-104J, Hasegawa kit. Used the kit decals because I didn't have any other options...wish I did. Not because they don't look cool, but all of the stencils are in large batches with tons of clear film. And they're thick. Maybe not so noticable in 1/32, but in braille...eh. Paint came out good, so I actually did well with it at the show despite the decals.

My club decided that we were going to try to enter EVERY category at Granitecon in Nashua, NH this past weekend (we made it!). Obviously, some categories are harder to cover than others if you don't build certain genres! One of my assignments was "1/32 and smaller Autos". Airfix to the rescue with a 1/32 Mini Countryman kit I picked up on sale at Squadron for a whopping three dollars. 1st place and best out of box in category, btw.

With 5 days to go before the show, I did my usual "build like a maniac" build trying to fill one more category. Hasegawa 1/48 J35 Draken got the nod. Out of box with Twobobs decals (those things are super). 1st place, best out of box, best small airforce aircraft award. Not to shabby for 5 days!

Last for today - my trophy haul from Patcon in September and Granitecon this past weekend. I'll take it!
