Hey Fellas, It's been a while since I had a chance to post any pics. The last few months, I've mostly lurked, and had to choose between building or posting pics of my builds. It's been a pretty hectic year and a half. Then, I got into a bit of a rut, so decided I needed to pull myself out of it. In December, between Christmas and New Years, I did just that. I'd wanted to re-organize my model room for a while - partly to use the space better, but mostly so my son and I could build together (in the old layout, he was across the room and my bench was in between. So, I started here: And wound up here: Then I decided to tackle some builds that were on the cusp of completion, staring with the 38(t)G from the group build from... a year plus ago. The build was done, but I decided to put together a base and work on the weathering a bit. Sadly, I didn't take a ton of pics of the in between steps, but this is where I was and where I am now.... (In this pic, I popped the engine hatch off because I want it open... gotta goop up the engine some more) I love my boys to have some comms... And a frustrated mechanic to round things out...(he's still in the "paint shop"....) And then the base: Something I picked up at.... Armorcon?? a couple years ago: I added the posts and the barbed wire, plus the groundwork: And, perhaps even more importantly, I've been able to spend time down at the bench with my son. He's come a long way, and just finished (all by himself - at 8 years old), the 1/48 Tamiya British Light Utility Car 10HP. Good times...good times!

Nice room and glad to hear your son is involved and doing well!
Mine isn't at that level yet but it is great to have him help with a build!

Here I am! Luckily, you caught me on the last day of my monthly bandwidth allocation, and I have a bit left over. Need to burn it all before midnight when the timer resets.
Like what you did with the bench (that design looks slightly familiar). Like the 38(t) even more! Wasn't aware you were going with the Hungarian markings as well. Damn, now I need to get that thing done. If it warms up at all this weekend (doubtful?) I'm going to fire some primer in it's general direction. Base looks great, btw - that Celticwerks?

Hey guys, Figured it was time to bring this one home... First, here is the link to the original duel build that Wing_nut started that set this whole thing in motion: modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/8748/dueling-38s-tristar-dml-maquette Since the last update, I've mostly been tweaking some of the little details (reattaching parts that I seem to insist on breaking off again and again and AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!!) Also had to work on my face painting "skills" - don't laugh at me Andy! This was my basic plan - And this is where I finished ("Hey kids, can you find the 11 changes? Circle them and share with your friends" ) I'll take some pictures today with some daylight - hopefully that will improve the quality a bit.

I seriously like that 38T. Lately I've gotten on a 38T "jones". But the one I really want still eludes me. A Tristar 38T auf G. The figure atop the tank really sets it off to my eyes; I might add here.

Lovely work on the 38(t)!!! Really dig the base too... I am huge fan of complete builds that includes figures and a diorama base.

Nice to see this one get across the finish line Boyd! You're challenging Andy for total build chronological time though!
