When you paint small figures and you place them on a diorama, always you feel like Gulliver in the country of Liliputians. And you have a small army of Liliputians!

Morning fellas! Had a good session with AB and got the dark grey on the hull. The figures are now glued in place and just need to paint the sitting figures and do a little detail painting on some parts and i'll be ready to do the final assembly.Hope you like how George is looking. I do have one question! I'm undecided on a gloss or dull coat for the hull exterior.I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. 001 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 003 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 004 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 005 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 006 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 007 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 008 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr Thanks for looking! Very cool Leon! Got to love the figures for what they add even if you did go cross-eyed under the Optivisor! As for the gloss vs. flat exterior, boomer subs were usually fitted with an anechoic coating of rubber tiles to lower their acoustic signature. As such, I would think that a flat black exterior would be more appropriate vs. a gloss. HTH!

Thank you Bill! They do add some life to this Boomer. Thanks for the info on the color.Think i stick with the dark gray and give it a flat coat in the morning.I looked at some ref. pictures and it showed the Washington in gray and a orange sail before her trial runs. After that it was dark gray and possibly a lighter gray on the lower part of the hull.

Evening fellas! After quite a few interruptions for gardening i finally got this assembled. One of the sitting officers decided to go AWOL and i spent 15 minutes on the floor hunting him down and he is now seated at the periscope. Not going to call this finished yet.Still need to paint the prop and array on top of the sail and make sure everything is how i want it.Hope you like it and thanks for looking. btw.....This is a bear to photograph. 008 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 007 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 006 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 005 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 004 by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 003 - Copy - Copy by Leon Dorak, on Flic 002 - Copy - Copy by Leon Dorak, on Flickr 001 - Copy by Leon Dorak, on Flickr Thanks for looking! My, haven't you got a big one Sub's looking great Leon! I hope you don't mind my saying, but the figures standing in the 'at ease' position do look a bit like they're relieving themselves

Nice to see it all coming together Leon! That's the downside to ships (and subs!), they are space hogs for sure!
