My friends all good things must come to an end. The Dan Jayne tribute build has been finished. Summary: Interior aft the cockpit is scratchbuilt. Wing internals are scratchbuilt. Paints include Model Master Enamel RLM 02, 65, 70, and 71. Paints also include Alclad, Rustoleum, and Model Master Metallics. Various strip, rod, square, and sheet styrene was used. This is not intended to be an exact replica. It is intended to give the illusion of the real thing. Paints include Model Master Enamels, Alclads, Rustoleum, and Testors. Details. And the overall. Started in August and finished in Feb. I was fortunate that I was able to chat with Dan over the course of three years. He was gracious with his knowledge and encouragement. I am proud to say he was my friend. Miss you my friend. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe

Many many thanks. I am honored and humbled.
Stang to be honest Dan Jayne. I had seen his builds in FSM and really liked them. Did not think I could ever do something like that. When I "met" him on Facebook his encouragement and insights made the jump easy.

Very very true my friend. For me though I meant emotionally spent on this one. I have a dozen kits I want to build but I just cannot bring myself to choose one yet.

Very very true my friend. For me though I meant emotionally spent on this one. I have a dozen kits I want to build but I just cannot bring myself to choose one yet. Joe LOL! Mister, you just described exactly how I feel a lot of times and I think it's what you're eluding to. It's really hard for me to just "POP!!!" build a model in a day and a half like I see some folks do. I'm a stickler for the details like you and it takes me a while to get one completed due to all the planning as well as the construction to make 'em look like what I'm envisioning. With that in mind I've got to choose my builds very carefully as I want something that's going to hold my interest for months which means that I often find myself with a ton of kits that I want to get to but can't because of my building speed......er.....lack thereof. lol
