Joel, Thank you for the compliment. I said it MANY of times, I was a 1/35th guy for years. 1/35th got me my sponsorship..... Now I loathe 1/35th because there is so little to build..LOL LOL..... Hells bells companies are producing production runs of things like this little doozie.....




Anyway that's what lead me to 1/25, plus you literally have to create all your own figures.... So I "learned" to be more patient. To tell the truth, the guys who sculpt figures from Milput are the real experts, wire, and putty....man that's talent..i could never do that, I mean ZOWIEEEEEEEEE

So, I don't think I shared this process when I built the Ferdinand. NO "mocking birds" it wasn't because I think I'm so damn cool. I think I probably just forgot to go into it.....
So as I have been working on the Hauptman, (captain) I started in on his Shoulder Boards.... I used .015 thousands Evergreen strips, and .015 dia. Solder. You fold the first cut over on itself, Zap a gap it in place, fold a second piece around the first and VOILA.... Panzer Hauptman Shoulder Boards minus the details......

So to give myself a little breather from the actual build, I have been working on the figures and accessories.... Here is the Infantry Officer, he will be climbing on board the Ausf L. Balancing himself with one hand while holding on to his MP 40 OR possibly an PPSH, (still working on the master).I don't know if it will come through, but he is a total rebuild, legs, feet, arms, hands and head....we shall see how he turns out:

From what I can tell the quotation marks when quoting somebody's post are somehow linked to PB, hence the icons keep popping up all over the place. What browser are you using? If it's Firefox you can block it.

So here is the Infantry Officers Assault harness.... Now some  MAY question having an officer carrying an assault harness. Well research shows that by this point in the war some junior infantry officers did just that for a myriad of reasons...
Anyway here he is, I used Wine Bottle foil for the straps..... and now it's on to his flashlight.

So, I have had several PM inquires as to how I go about creating specific pieces or in this case an MP40. Now please remember that there are only five sources for MP40's in 1/25th scale: (that I know actually produce. There is a couple of schmucks on the inter-web that say they produce, but DON'T)

• Tamiya from the 1970's
• Hasegawa from their Kubelwaggen (actually small 1/24th scale)
• Prieser G gauge (actually a perfect 1/25th scale, go figure)
• Model Cellar, ( their details SUCK...sorry but true)
• Heavy modification of any of the above

So here is how I go about it. I had BillieJean cast me several of the Prieser MP's and i start with that as a base. After removing the folded butt stock, drilling out the cocking lever and stock pivot point and of course cleaning up seams and flash. I then cut a piece of Evergreen Tubing, this will become the actual Butt stock plate, you know where it can rests against the shooters shoulder.

So here is a little more infantry gear. The MP40 is getting much closer. The helmet is a Tamiya which needs upgrading. The Map case is Prieser, and the Assault Pack and Bread bag are my own creations.
