Doesn't surprise me that this one turned into a wreck...looks like you're well on the path to 'ruining' it properly!

LOL...Thanks Dave....no worries, I am late for my own party as well! Been struggling with a complete lack on Mojo for a couple months now. I did get back on the bike a couple days ago....worked on this one too. I am just about ready to prime and start painting the interior....as soon as today if cards are played right! I hope to have some sort of update on this sooner than later!

Been stuck in the doldrums myself for a while now, so well done for getting off of your thumbs Todd! Looking at the pics it was worth it! Been doing bits and pieces myself, but winter has kicked off good style here (no snow, but perma-frost) so my cave in the basement's not conducive to sticking bits together.

Thank Dierk! Not all work spaces are conducive to the elements. I have had to abstain from painting for long periods during some rainy or humid times in the past. Cold is the worst though. Just not fun! Hoping you get some warmth ....or some overpowering gumption to be one with the plastic soon my friend!

Sweet T
Regrettably Tiger 1's don't show much thru the hatch, is it possible to unship the turret to one side to expose more of the excellent job you've done here? With artistic license, of course

Thanks Anthiny! Leon...Done!! Nap....much better now!! LOL Thanks Mark! With all the hatches open, you can see "some"...I was thinking of just cutting the tabs on the turret ring and allow it to be pulled out. We'll see how things work out as I move along!

Yeah Todd I went to bed around 11:30pm but the storms at 1:30am woke me up. I tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so I just got up and it was 4:00am. NO NAP too old for that. Tony lee

If I was living in your neck of the woods, I probably would wake up with the storms also! If I'm out typically, I'm out! A couple long days around here took its toll...LOL Things are quieting down finally!

A lot of work and time to get her to this point, but worth it brotha. I'm looking forward to seeing the pre painting......primer. We both have the same approach to the painting in that we do a crap load of pre painting just with primer lol.

Thanks Rob! LOL...we do, don't we? I get a kick out of the "different sh*t" we do to basically get to the same conclusion too! Just proves our point that there is no right or wrong way to do the stuff! Thank you G...much appreciated! Thank you BJ!! Hoping not to screw this up too much down range in booth! LOL Not, a huge update, but it is progress! Most of this stuff is preliminary as I have chipping and a few more layers of "stuff" to do before the best gets closed up to work on the outside! Being a wreck and a few years after it was scuttled, I wanted to add a little texture to some spots prior to priming..dirt...rust and whatnot. I decided to use one of Vallejo's texture products. The Oxide is basically the same as the sand or earth tones...but yeah...oxide color! LOL This stuff will become useful later on in the job. With that out of the way...for now, the colored stuff through the AB...FINALLY! ( been a while since I bonded with my airbrushes, excuse the excitement). What color to start with? Black, if you could not have guessed that by now! After a few layers of rust coloring ( I won't bore you with the details, but three or four colors to get a some base rust tones.) it is time to run through the paces...clear, chipping medium and then come color! While waiting for some paint to dry, I spent a little time soldering some brass and then wrecking it! The kit fenders were not bad, I felt it might be better to bend the metal this time. If you can see the white stuff between the mounting plates on the side, I did this because the finders actually wrap over the top on the real tank, the plates looked nice...better than the PE, which left a small 0.5mm gap between the fender and sides. A little filling soon and sand and things should look okay! Tonight, I felt slightly productive and strapped myself into the booth. I squirted some colors over the chipping medium. This will give me a base for detail painting, washes and some pigment fun soon. Things of course look a little rough at this point. I did manage to chip things back earlier..no, didn't take any pic yet, sorry! Time to break out some hand paints to pick out some details...that probably will not be seen when closed up and then back to the AB for some subtle dustings of colors pre-weathering style! As always, thank for tuning in for a bit!

And that is how it's done. One can basically do all the pre painting just with primer colors and then start the rust/fire/burn effects. I don't think I have that Oxide texture!! Will have to go through the boxes and check. But yeah basically similar to some of the other texture effects.
Rock on brotha.

Thanks fellas! Sorry, nothing to update yet other than I did chip everything back before and after the last post on this. I have just neglected getting some shots. I took some time to bond with that friggin' pirate ship I was working on...painting masts and running out a bunch od 3mm blocks for the rigging. If nothing else, it has been fun! I will try and grab some pics form this...and that a little later today! Tomorrow will be a painting/weathering day for the Tiger interior as I am planning on heading North a bit with a few friend to a little Build & BS meeting. Hang around, eat some chili, watch a movie, hoot the sh*t and work on some plastic! Rob, the Oxide is the same, I think I chose it for the contrast in the picture...LOL It showed up much better! Looking forward to butting this thing up and masking for the all important bonus round, the outside! Thanks Leon! I still need to thin back the metal in a couple spots so I can make some tearing damage...something I might work on tomorrow as well! Thanks Andy! If nothing else, this stuff does get your aggression out! LOL The thought is to have it done for Dayton. The clock sits at two months and counting down...LOL I still need to push the base forward from the pile of Styrofoam blocks it is now! Thanks Mark! Funny thing is you never know how it will turn out until you get the sum of all its parts to one point. At the moment, I would say things are looking okay...LOL We'll see once everything is glued in place!
