T You've certainly been busy. This is looking awesome. I like the use of the Oxide paste.

PJ - Thanks brotha'! Not sure you dozed off...thinking you might have been a bit busy like the rest of us! Dave - Thanks! The oxide worked well I thought. Gave me come color on the bare plastic to see what I was screwing...I mean, trying to do! Gil - Thank you my friend! I think this time it is for fun! LOL Tough to tell sometimes! But at least this one is for me! Nice double tap post!! Thanks Andrew! Much appreciated! Okay...not too much really. I did manage to get back to the bench today! Been an odd week to say the least. Besides my daughter rolling her jeep over on her way to school yesterday! She is perfectly fine except a couple of sore spots and her pride of course. Tires grabbed the snow and the rest was history... The good thing is it was a jeep and it only rolled onto one side. Fixable as far as I can tell. I told her it would make for a nice diorama for me some day! Adding to the speedbumps, my PC decided to revolt against me the other day. Took a couple days for me to concede and restore the POS resulting in the usual reloading of a number of programs! Good thing is nothing but those programs was lost! So getting kind of back on track today, I was able to break from the drudgery and hit some interior weathering on the Tiggy! Again, nothing too over the top. I still need to add some layers...maybe a little color. Again, most of this will be unseen unless you get down and dirty with a penlight. With the turret almost done, I will finish out the lower end and get this thing together soon! Some funky masking will be in order and then I am off to the races! Thanks for swinging by!

Thanks guys! Only thing that mattered was that the daughter was okay! Jeep looks worse than it is I think...LOL I managed to sneak away with some washes and effect and play a bit more inside the Tiggy. Concentration was on the tub stuff and part of the back. Next stop will be attacking the engine bay and the fans I think. Then I can spend some time bonding with masking everything once the part all come together. :

Brilliant work! You see? That's why I always keep my bench clean or my builds will end up rusty and dirty like your Tiger!

LOL...thanks Andy! One reason why it takes me so long to actually get something done....I build 'em and them sit until they rust!

Well, it does certainly seem like I fell off the grid with regards to the site, and the building! LOL This is the way it goes when life and modeling shows get in the way! As recent as two weeks ago, I needed to knuckle down and try and bang this one out for the AMPS International Show in Dayton, Ohio. Needless to say, I did it! LOL Surprisingly, I was able to work the exterior pint and weathering, track, make the base and apply all the ground work and only did some minor touch-ups at the show before putting it on the table! I will pop some pics leading up to the finish to show a little of what I did! After a little masking it was time to try and prime and lay some paint! A quick black primer followed by some base rusting.... Next up was some sort of base! AC Moore to the rescue! Grabbed a cheap black 12x12 frame and some basswood strips. After mitering the wood to fit, I cut some dense EPS to fit the hole...the rest is history! A little stain on the wood followed by sealing and I was off to the races! After carving out the foam and wood, a quick thin layer of Water Texture (Acrylic Gel) followed with an application of a strengthener, a sheet of tissue. This works like drywall tape to keep and cracking from happening and also helps smooth the cut on the foam. The fun stuff happened next! I got a rather large shipment of goodies form Scenic Factory the week before. Some of these items were going to fit the scene perfectly! Once the basic base was done, I started making a small dirt path that was to run around the tank. Vallejo Textures works perfectly here. It goes down quick and dries fast...plus when you put anything into or on top of it, it acts as an adhesive securing it in place! While still wet, I added some pigments for tonal change in the dirt followed by some fine gravel/sand to give me some texture. With the path done, the wooded ground was to be created. Again, I hit the surface with some Texture acrylic. While this was wet, I used Scenic Factory's Forest Floor (loaded)... This stuff is incredible! I felt guilty using it because it was too easy to get a great looking ground effect! All of this was followed with some drilling and placement of trees, both big and small, some bushy type stuff, grass crap and leaves... I modeled this one off the Vimoutiers Tiger in France...the early one before it became a monument...I might have mentioned that somewhere in the thread after I started it! LOL My mind is slipping a bit lately! I'll pop some pics of the real thing in with the finals! And that is that, as they say! Super fun project...even for a Tiger (((LOL))) The base was a bunch of fun too! It netted me a Gold in the Master Class at the AMPS show this past week, so I was pleased with that! Now, it is time to get ready for my trip to Chile at the end of the month for the Latin Militaire show! I really want to finish my Leopard 2A4 to bring it and work on it for a demo I am doing! Thanks for all the support along the way guys! Chalk one up for this year's gallery!

Got to see this one in person at AMPS. You nailed it brotha, and in a short period of time too. Nothing like having the pressure on to finish a build.

Thank you Paul...and Mark, Anthony, Andrew and Rob! I seemed to have had a busy month with all the travle and work. The kind words are much appreciated! This one now resides with a good friend from Chile! I brought the build down to Latin Militaire and only for show, but decided to give it to my friend Paulo for going above and beyond helping to show us around, pick us up and drop us off to the event and offering up his home to us along the way! I hope he enjoys it as much as I had building it!
