I hope I didn't hurt you cause you fell off your chair when you saw that I am building something? I know it has been a year since I finished something. Mojo seems to be coming back slowly. Instead of tackling that huge B-24 Liberator build, I am going to build something easy for fun. And it will be a dedication to a friend who passed away recently and he was so huge fan of Russian armors and MIGs. My local club is going to do a memorial group build to honor him and I thought I can have an early start on this.
The victim...
I bought this kit for only $10 at the model club and it came with resin engine. Since it was not planned, I ordered several aftermarket stuff and it should arrive this week and I will post here.
I found this image and I liked it so I am going to do my best to make one just like this.
It will be painted like this... crazy camo scheme
Latest work...
My goal is to have it done in for local model show in March. If not, then I can always bring it to AMPS Nats in Dayton, Ohio. That's another motivational factor to keep me going!

Well done my friend! Keep up the good work...my T72 is coming right along too....I have enjoyed going back to the Tamiya kit as I'm sure you have. Love your work it's always top shelf!
Guys, thanks for tagging along! Worked on the engine a bit more last night. This resin set is real nice and everything fits perfectly except for one part where I had to cut two places off the hull to make the engine base fit. Easy job!
John- Hey buddy! I can bring it to our next club meeting... good way to keep me motivated. Thanks!
Leon- Thanks... glad to have you along!
Rob- I figured you would love the mug. I guess Todd doesn't approve? Hope my first wreck comes out good! Glad the kit was only $10... I will never ruin a $50+ kit. LOL
Mike- Believe me thank you for keeping me motivated! Happy to have you along too!
Ah! There you are Andy. I was about to turn out the dogs to go looking for you. Count me in on this build my friend. I do enjoy watching your builds. That being said, You'd better turn that mug around! You'll never get anything done staring at that.
LOL! Consider it done! Wait?!?! Where is my mug now? Oh its in the dishwasher now so I guess I will see her tomorrow or so. Wait a minute! You want to meet her too?!?!?
Always a pleasure to have you aboard. I am torn between airbrushing or hand painting the camo scheme. Looking at pictures it looks like the terrorists had their tanks painted by brushes instead of spray but I still am digging for more info.
Glad to see you've got your mojo back - or have you abducted mine? Haven't seen it in a while You want to watch how you handle that mug - you could have somebody's eyes out with those
i.gifer.com/6gG.gif You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.
Hey Andy,so your doing a "Rob special",should beca nice project.Good luck on the demolition.
"Rob Special"? LOL You nailed it... I already have begged Rob for assistance when I have questions or concerns since it will be my first attempt. Happy to have you aboard my friend!
