Dave, as you say "With enough thrust, pigs fly just fine." However, how well do they land?

Who said anything about landing? When they land, it's time for a BBQ!

Thank you kindly Bill. The sheen on the PE parts has since been knocked down with some oil washes. Leon Thank you my good man. Here is yesterdays progress. The wing for the -11. I gave it an RLM02 paint job, thinking it was built early enough with time to do this. The -13 wing is another story. I took an artistic liberty here. Thinking that materials (ie paint) and time may have been at a premium, so, I left the internals on the wing a bare metal finish. You can see the single shell ejection port for the 20mm cannon. It was a plug supplied in the kit. All that remained was to drill out the port. The wings next to their respective fuselages. Here's a couple of shots to show the engine accessory portion. You can see the dual shell ejection ports for the -11. Not that there were any guns up there.

Congrats on securing the new digs Dave! Moving house is always an interesting exercise, you never quite realize how much stuff you've accumulated until you have to relocate it!
Pair is coming along nicely, choosing to show one with flaps open vs. the other closed provides a nice contrast.

Good morning Bill. Thank you very much. Fortunately, we'll be moving in in stages. This way the "Grand Purging" can also happen in stages. Or so the theory goes..... A contrast was what I was going for. I did not want them looking like bobsie twins.
Good morning Leon. Thank you kindly.

Great news on the house acquisition Dave! You'd better be careful with those wing cannon during the whole painting process bubba. I've had bad luck in the past with that process. Progress so far is looking amazing. BTW....did I mention I'm a HUGE 190D fan??

Mustang1989 Thank you very much my good man. The cannons are not my issue...it's the damned pitot tubes. I should have listened to my little voice and built them out of stainless tubing and wire. I've already snapped a plastic on. Why yes, I do believe you did mention something about 190's. I've always like the lines of the 190, both BMW and Jumo engined types. I also really like the Ta-152. Especially the H variant. There has been some paint slinging again. The landing gear, door, props & spinners are all done. All that remains is some detail painting, and weathering. The oleos were painted using Vallejo Chrome. This is the spinner for the -13 dry fitted to the cowl. This revealed that I will need to shim the props forward as they rub the leading edge of the cowl. This was easily accomplished using a punch and a couple pieces of 0.010" styrene stock. The props and spinners are most done. All that remains for them is some weathering, which will occur at a much later time. On the left is the spinner fo the -13, this other is for the -11
Several days ago, the -11 was primed with gloss black for the pending BMF.
Here is yesterdays progress. I shot several light coats of Vallejo Aluminum. Since then, I have applied several other BMF colors to break up the monochromatic finish. This will be the basis for the weathering to come, after I get the camo laid down. The BMF colors were also an exercise for myself for when I do finish an aircraft in BMF.

Hate to hear that about the pitot tube bud. Your progress on the prop & spinner, gear oleos and the paint work are right up there with the best.

Bill Thank you kindly my good man. One of these days, I'll build up a BMF bird. Mustang1989 I should have known better. Either glue them on last, or use stainless steel tubing. Thank you kindly for the compliment buddy. As it turns out, the -13 is getting its base coats first. The underside leading edge of the wing is Vallejo RLM81. The light blue is Lifecolor RLM76. I used hairspray for the chipping. The scalloped appearing area behind the cowl flaps is tape, to protect the BMF that will be visible with the open cowl flaps. The white band is Vallejo Insignia White. The will be a black band forward of this, which I will use Mission Models Worn Black. Some more RLM81 on the gear doors. Some chipping on the port side.

Lots of different paint surfaces/masking involved with this one Dave but looks like you're pulling it off in style.

Leon Thank you kindly my good man. Tojo72 Thank you very much. Bil There was a fair bit of masking to be done on the underside. The top side is mostly free hand. The -13 has all of its base colors laid down. Just waiting for the satin coat to cure before decals. The topside is mostly RLM 81/82 with a smattering of RLM 76. There are a few areas to touch up due to runs/spider webbing.
