I was thinking the same thing.
Shouldn't we be voting?

I was thinking the same thing. Shouldn't we be voting? Normally yes, perhaps there's some technical difficulty we aren't aware of with the polling? I know the NATS happened at the time the voting would usually have started so that's likely a factor, but otherwise, not sure. I guess it will happen when it happens!

I guess the MoM has died a quiet death...doesn't look like anyone has entered anything for the month of August and with no voting having been run for what was entered in July, I suppose this marks the end of this tradition here on the MSC. I know the participation in entries has been declining for some time so it doesn't come as a surprise that it's reached the end of the road.

Strange that there's been no "official" comment on the status.

Not dead, but consolidated I'd say. I got the impression the people posting regularly are too little to generate enough output for monthly polls. Some also turned their backs on the forum over the past few years, for whatever reason. A solution could be a single model of the year contest, perhaps. Open to all, not just MoM winners.

Has the Facebook page slowed down, too? If not, it may be a problem of people tired of double posting, since it is a time consuming issue.
As for the contest, there were only 3 entries for June, but there were 101 votes cast. That indicates there are still a number of people viewing the forum.

Yes and no, it depends on whether or not the Admin sends out the reminder notice with the voting link. There was no May contest. In the April contest, no notice was sent out and only 20 people voted. There also was no January contest, so it's been declining slowly. I don't think the entire forum is dead, but the MoM certainly appears to be so both from a lack of entries and promotion/administration. That's not a knock or criticism, just an observation. Personally, I know that I don't have time to build once the school year starts and I can pop in on occasion to view the forum but not always post.

I haven't been on site on a regular basis, outside work has taken most of my summer. But, I know for a fact traffic always slows down in the summer on almost every site, Space Book be dammed.
So personally, I wouldn't think the site is dying, not by any stretch of the imagination, just the annual summer blues.
Cheers up guys, there's plenty of paint sniffin, finger gluin to be had once the snow flies. Well, at least in my case, that is. Ruck On Bby!
Cheers, Ski.

Hi,
we have the same problem in our german forum. The output from the members is going down, so we do a contest of the year. Then we have ~80 entries for voting. The last 2 years i build only one diorama. And i went more to modelshows. This takes also a lot of my free "building time". Also the sommer was very hot in germany, i had 41degrees on my workbench for a couple of weeks. When you want, i can show some pics of the diorama and the german modelshows.
