Hi All This is what I achieved today the blade is of course loose for removal for painting. hopefully be very close to start getting paint on this one. So the headlight Cables are wire wrapped around a brass rod then cut to size the green butty to simulate the rubber end covers on the plugs . Fascine is in stowed position. Carpet Muncher has been busy and swallowed the headlights on the other one but have replacements will post picture when fixed . Ossie

This thing looks amazing WITHOUT paint!!! I can only imagine what it's going to look like once you get color and weathering added to this.

Hi All sorry for being so long but a lot has been done. models were primed in Black Primer (citadel chaos black ) left to dry for a few days next the model was sprayed cloud fashion not to saturate the dark areas with Vallejo Russian green primer and dark brown to hull now comes the interesting part cloud spray with Imperial Japanese Armour Dark green ( matches nato green we had ) 71285 then dusted with a slightly green shade for highlights. headlights were covered with a sick round dot worked perfect. one set of wheels painted black and tyre rims painted with lifecolor tyre blackened other set painted in green same with wheel rims tracks were painted with dark dirt brown and shaded with light brown and treads on hush puppies in tyre black next I will paint the black by hand and all the basic colours cadd decals were needed then seal models ready for weathering . hope you like it so far Ossie

Man I’m loving this! The basic Centurion is one mean looking tank. Add the dozer blade and snub nose demolition gun and it looks downright wicked! Great stuff here!

Ossie
Apologies completely missed this. I have to blame some studies for keeping me away during the early stages of this build.
I love the extra attention to detail you've put in on this and love the way the colour has turned out.
Very well done so far.
ATB.

Your painting processes are to be admired Ossie. The cloud spray followed by the dusting worked perfectly and makes for a realistic paint job and shadowing effect. Every one of these armor threads has something to learn in them and thanks for taking the time to explain your processes.

Hi all
thank you for the nice comments
so currently I am just painting lights episcopes and then hessian and canvas base coats. might do some glazing on the canvas but may not. will hand paint the black in Scale 75 black primer or just black , reason its a nice thick matt pigment means one coat .
gloss where decals need to go then add the decals once this all done then it be sprayed Matt varnish and left to dry for a week
then we start with glazes then hair brush techniques and then artist chalk pigments as well
once the varnish sprayed I will spray the AFV club cam net ( I gave it a try after spraying then attaching wow what a difference )and attach it to the baskets

Hi Everyone so black has been hand painted on to both models ( just like we use to do for real . except we used 3 inch paint brushes lol.) decals Added over gloss varnish and finally two coats of Vallejo matt varnish. the matt varnish seals the paint so when I do hairspray or washes etc it does not take the main paint off, wheels fitted next stage is to finish hand held extinguishers and decals for those . then the hard job of weathering . hope you like them Ossie

These look so dang good that I don't even know where to jump in and start commenting. I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring to the table as far as weathering goes Ossie.

Hi All right holidays done back to finishing the model off . so I started by dry brushing the tracks and adding the silver wear marks from the front track adjuster where makes also on the steel tracks the treads. Decided to start with the green using a slightly lighter colour I started to dry brush then went to an even lighter colour to finish off . I used a new brush and and added paint then wiped it off till I was left with hardly any paint then did the same with the black , still got all the washes etc to do yet but starting to take shape . also added the silver to the track adjuster metal rim which runs on the track also the sprocket teeth will add the tracks and side plates before I start on painting the exhausts and hessian and gun mantels then on to pastel chalks hope you like it so far ossie

Hi All just a little update ,Gun Mantels painted :- so done some glazing followed by dry brushing followed by some wash. so the paints used for this process were :- Vallejo panzer aces canvas plus some other colours also used Scale 75 artist range to do highlights and some burnt umber wash. next job is to start on the exhausts and exhaust covers and front of Dozer blade and turret rollers , using hairspray method to create rust. Ossie
