Man you are KILLIN' it with the details on this one Boots'! You can't look anywhere on this thing and not see it packed with it. Just amazing work going on here. I don't know how all of you paint this stuff one color and then paint it up like it was all apart. Simply amazes me how you guys pull this hat trick off.

To me, it's the scratch work that makes this all worth every minute of the build. Totally impressive, to say the least!

Joe and Gary, it is a bit of a headache sometimes trying to keep track of seperatley painted sub-assemblies....especially weathering stages, on this particular build all the subs were finished and then fitted together, the cab and chassis were ok as i did them both at the same time.........the rear deck i couldn`t do for a couple of weeks........that was fun trying to remember what i`d did on the other bits

Ok....some colour, yes it is very harsh but never fear it ain`t staying that colour...........well not that bright anyway!, it will change drastically over the next few stages. All the colours that you will see over the next few piccy stages are just blocking colours.

The engines were quite often a pale blue colour and ref pics showed this a lot, i had some 1960`s Arcadian Blue left over from my GT40 build so i used that, the trans was done in a basic green just to break it up a bit...............you don`t see the dam thing anyway!!

The engine and trans were painted in situ (had no choice!)the trans with a small brush and the engine was done with my 0.2 AB

Started picking out some detail work on the engine and the first of many washes to come....the chassis has also had it`s first course of treatment.

Man...this is really looking GREAT! I don't see how you paint the engine after it's the chassis and not get paint on the chassis. Especially with an airbrush.

As for engine painting......i was fortunate enough to have a little bit of wiggle room between the chassis rails and engine, not much......but enough!, i managed to get some masking tape inbetween the rails and engine and was able to spray the bulk of it, any little areas that did manage to get on the red i just reversed the process and sprayed the red back in.....if that makes sense

More weathering work using washes etc........the wheels/tyres etc will be done at the end of the build.

The bright red has allowed me to apply the darker wash/filter thinner in places to give it a bit more contrast.

I just lightly went round with a Dremmel, there was a slight seam and by the time i`d got ride of it i`d worn areas of the tread away as well.....the rears were a different story as there was a lot of tread on those chunky bits, i`ll try and age them a bit more with the weathering hopefully

Mission Models tire black and worn tire black, if you can get it, will age tires out quite well. First class work here sir

Funny enough i do have a tyre colour set but it`s the Lifecolor ones.....i think there is 6 different types of Black effect, didn`t know about MM doing a set tho, i`ve recently used MM paints for the first time and i was impressed

Fuel tank now painted and weathered, also the winch was painted the same colour as the engine and weathered accordingly just as a bit of interest to break up the bulk red colour on the chassis.....once again the AB was used
