Went to a local gaming store that's really close to me and has figures and paints today. My daughter gave me a gift card for Christmas. When I walked back where the paints are, they had the AK 3rd Gen paint in!! They were not there last time I went. The Manager said he's been waiting for them because they've been stuck in customs since November.

Made a trip to the LHS today. Picked up some AK Real Colors. Store owner said that the Real Color line is NOT going away but will be in dropper bottles now. Should start seeing them in Feb. Also got this cutting mat for removing PE.

New at my Stash. The Tank Museum had their M103 rumbling around the arena at one of the recent Tankfests...an absolute beast!

My LHS ordered these MiniArt kits for me. They will be used in my upcoming FW-190 GB as well as a few other projects I have in mind. The IJN bulldozer will be used in a A6M2-N Rufe build I have planned in the spring.

Medicman71 I’ve not used any of that paint line. How is it? Is there another brand you would compare it to?

Are you talking about the AK Real Air Colors? Personally I love them. Thin them with Mr Leveling Thinner and they sprays beautifully. I honestly don't know what to compare them to cause I was using acrylics before.

I did that Komatsu kit a while back - fun little build and I used it experiment with rust... went a bit crazy but learned.

Yes, thin with levelling thinner and get beautiful results. They are an acrylic lacquer. They love the levelling thinner. I suppose they are a bit Comparable to Tamiya acrylic or maybe Mr. Hobby Aqeuous

I keep looking at a 1/48 resin Cat Model 12 grader, but the price Too bad Hasegawa has not continued on with their 1/35 construction equipment series. When they did the rice harvester, I thought they would be doing all kinds of vehicles, including graders. I had secretly wished for one of those asphalt eater things that look like a robot dinosaur.

In California the most common large machines seen are made by Wirtgen, and a company called Anrak had them. Anrak seemed like a great name for the beasts and the company name was painted on the side so that's what I called them.

They remind me of the Tamiya XF line.

Two new additions for the bench. Got a new led light and bought 2 nail polish racks on Amazon. They fit 10ml bottles perfect. Was able to get 96 bottles on the 2 racks Johnny....that's a nice little set up....one observation though....it is FAR too tidy! Had to clean up a little to put it all together

Special delivery arrived today from a fellow MSC member. Thanks keavdog for sending me these IJN pilots. I am truly grateful! These pilots will be featured in a few weeks once my A6M2 is complete.

One last post from 2023 that I kept forgetting to get uploaded to imgur. Keith Green KreationZ hooked me up with some contact info for a gentleman in his area. We emailed back and forth a bit talking about kits and him sending me photos. Well, I ended up being interested in more than a few, but could only justify a couple kits at the moment with all my recent additions. He quickly mailed them out to me so I thought I would share. The full detail Jo-Han turbine car. Unstarted, and barely touched. I've always wanted to build this incredibly intricate kit but pricing is usually utterly absurd. He was more than fair here. And the original release of the Tamiya Williams FW-07. Love that era of F1 and didn't have this one laying around yet. He did get a very minor start on a couple bits. And the tires are throwaways, but I've already sourced some new ones. Big thanks to Keith for the hookup!!

This kit found its way into my stash just after Christmas. Scalemates has no information on the company, ZimiModel, however after inspecting the kit it looks very well molded....lots of teeny tiny parts. It is a 1/35, comes with a bunch of PE including real springs and brass barrels. It also comes with a deck and 2 different range finder options, I think one is early WWII to Korea, the other is late WWII thru Korea up to decommission. Excited to work this kit later as I have never seen a quad BOFORS before.

They have quite the list on their website. They also are not afraid to say they are the "BEST" as they repeat it several times. www.zimimodel.com/Says that this is part of a series so we can probably expect to see more someday. Very, very cool!

A friend of mine built the main guns from the Bismarck from this line and it was gorgeous. Made me want to pick one up for sure. I’ve never built a ship either but a kit of the main battery? Fantastic.

I was thinking about how big even a 5in gun would be in 35th. IMHO if they came with interiors I would sacrifice the shelf space for them, until then I'm ok with the 1/350th versions of those big guns. This BOFORs is really cool though.
