Thanks John. I love when the weather is clear and launches from Vandenberg are visible. It’s roughly 500 miles away from my yard to the launch site.

Okay, I didn't get a picture, but it was a bonafide sighting of a redneckess looney tuneium. Went to the local doghnut shop to get well, you know....and when I came out this specimen, diplaying his colorful plumage of shorts, Hawaiian style shirt, shades and a brimmed hat, was coming in. We shared a "Good Morning" and then he began to sing the song of his people..."Man its hot. You know the government does this. It was a 107 in Georgia yesterday. All them airplanes in the sky criss-crossing leaving all ..." at that point. I got in my car and left. I should have said, "Yes, we know. And your name is?" They walk among us. Wow! I always thought they were native to Oz.....

Thanks Dodgy. I just used my phone for that. I need to get the DSLR battery charged for some future launch and better photos. I love space flight.

Wow Mark ( mach7)!! Thank you for taking the time to put all of those photos together here to share the car show with us. I had to do a double take on that Fiero as I used to work on those things. Beautiful rides across the board man.

Thanks!
The red E type coupe followed me into the show. You can see it overheated.
It was a sunny 90F day and the show workers were very slow in parking the cars, I'm surprised that was the only car to overheat.
Also, You don't get to see too many Edsel's!

What a great way to spend a day, awesome! Strange that some of the cars overheated, wouldn't have expected that.

Old, British, 90+F, and idling for a 20 minutes.
My MG was on the high side of normal on the gauge, but my electric fans were running.
The poor old Jag only has the engine driven fan. At idle its not drawing much air. Also I suspect it was not the subject of regular maintenance. But I'm glad he brought it!

Yesterday... Military aircraft are a rare sight around here. We mostly see Chinooks (maybe 1-2 times a month) and an occasional Blackhawk. I might catch an A-10 or 2, once or twice a year...that's about it. This was certainly a surprise!

I had a 65 E-type for 20 years, It would overheat when I bought it but after I polished the head mating surface it never did again, the heating issue is down to combustion gasses leaking into the cooling system where the block and head mate, there is very little distance between the cylinder and cooling channels. I live where summer temps are almost always above 90 F. The fan on mine was driven by an electric motor, no connection to the engine, it ran off a temp sensor.

I just assumed that it didn't have an electric fan, The MGs didn't get them until the mid/late '70s. I don't think Triumph put them in until the TR-7. I could not hear it running while he parked.
Thanks for the info!

We get all sort of cool stuff around here for about 2 weeks every summer I heard a weird noise at work once and looked up to see a B-25 go over at about 500 feet. Coming in for a landing at my local airport a few year back and looked out the window to see a Mig-17 very closely followed by an F-86 flash by. thunderovermichigan.org/

It's usually the 1st weekend of August. We typically get some stuff overhead (I'm only 20 miles from Willow Run). I was out in the garage all morning today...nothing. It has been some years since I've gone to the show. It's gotten stupid expensive, and as I understand it...you have to remain at your vehicle. No thanks...I've already seen all the stuff and the price tag just isn't worth it anymore!
