He is 3 years old now


Not much fur on this summer pic, in winter he is waaaaay fluffier

His name is Thor, not the movie Thor, the norse god. He turned 20 in june. Mainecoonish. He has old-stubborncatotis.

A Golden Pyr should be an excellent family dog. We have had 3 Great Pyrenees, 2 pure, and 1 half Anatolian shepherd/Great Pyrenees. All have been excellent dogs.

Great Pyrs make really good family dogs if you can handle their idiosyncracies, they aren't like most dogs in that they aren't particularly eager to please and listen as well as a pet rock.

I walked into the livingroom today and found my dog like this. I think he's broken.

   Had to say goodbye to my best friend Bigalowe last night. He was 16+ and truly lived a " dogs life" with us. There are many things harder than laying a good friend to rest to ease suffering.....but I haven't experienced it yet.
     He was a certified good boy, most awesome pup, great big brudder, and in a room full of oafs he was the oafiest. He loved me, mommy, Ryker, and when they were here the cats. He really liked getting groomed...full blown ladies man and a true flirt. He will forever hold a special place in my heart.
   Rest in peace my buddy my pal my friend.

Perry, I am indeed very sorry that your time with Bigalowe had to come to an end. I am quite sure he loved his life with you as much as you loved having him in it. It is certainly trying to lay a beloved pet to rest, but cherish the time you all had together.

I am so sorry to hear this, I've suffered through my share of grief over loved pets, it is never easy because they leave paw prints on our hearts. Treasure the memories.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Losing a member of the family is painful

Man, I am so sorry. 16 years is a good long time. But, This part of the pet equation never, ever gets easier. Rest in peace Bigalowe.

So sorry for your loss… it’s never easy. In fact, I’ve grieved harder and longer for my furbabies than I have for most humans I knew. Sending prayers.
